Oh, thanks for your permission.

Know what's ****ing stupid? When a European team joins a North American tournament and has better latency than an NA team because they ***** and complain about east coast servers against teams that have west coast and Hawaii players.
This is a legitimate concern. In my opinion - and this isn't personal - **** special rules for European teams in American tournaments. Likewise, **** special rules for American teams in European tournaments. If you want to come play across the pond that's fine, but you have to accept the consequences of your decision. Europeans that sign up for NA tournaments and vice versa go in with a big handicap, and it's implied from their participation that they're willing to play regardless. It is not the responsibility of the tournament to accommodate for self-imposed handicaps.

Not sure why NA would want to make it as hard you can for the largest scene to play in your tournaments, with a simple concession to using East coast servers where possible.

I think we can all agree that unless there's a new tournament, fighting over EU NA ping stuff is useless.
Could we go back to seeing how we can get a new tournament before we  crush it down with arguments?

Possibly because the EU scene isn't the target audience for the tournament. You didn't see American teams clamoring for special server rules for WNL.

I have to agree with that.

if your entering into a tournament then you must accept the rules of that tournament and its server locations. If playing with high ping is an issue then don't enter the said tournament.

however

When creating a tournament, It would be prudent to accommodate as many people as possible and design it where it will attract the most competitive scene. If the NA scene is dying then creating the tournament that would attract teams from further afield would make sense.

They didn't have to because France was made the default server for EU vs NA from the beginning, whereas Germany was considered the standard for inter-EU. However, Leroux's correct it's pointless arguing about this, let's try and get something up and running before we start falling out.

Doin an international LAN is not a goer. There is no mysterious benefactor waiting to stump up the amount of prize money needed. The community is too small to crowdfund it as well. The size of the prize required would have to be enough to justify people travelling from countries and would have to be decent enough for 2nd and 3rd places for anyone but AE to bother showing up. You could coopt the prize money to pay for elite level teams to travel and keep the prize pool relatively small but not only would it be hard to decide who goes but it would still be an expense beyond many of the 12 year olds who play the game.

Regarding this NA tournament, this mysterious benefactor is going tp need to court the teams he wants in private and perhaps make a tournament these old teams want to play in.

Rhade youre such a meathhead lol

I honestly do not see the teams that left playing again. Many of them already specified their terms, which are pretty big terms for a community of this size. Even if they did come back for the tournament, I doubt it would help the NA scene at all. They'll be back for one tournament, then poof, gone again. We'll be back in our current position, or in an even worse position.

I agree that a last tournament with these teams would be awesome, it really would, but for the long-term, the tournament doesn't look to do much good for the NA scene. And as I, and DoF, intend on staying in the NA scene for the long-term, that is where my interests lie. The same should go for all of the other remaining NA clans.

Oh, and if you guys could stop having a pissing match about something that happened years ago, that'd be great. If you need to settle it that badly, create a thread on its own or start a PM chain, just don't interrupt what little progress is being made.
