I don't know if this has been mentioned before as I've been away for a while, but two of the things about M&B that I find tedious are 1) training crappy units into better ones and 2) traveling from town to town trying to find that one piece of quality equipment you want. So I thought, why not add these abilities to the perks you get for earning a high rank with a faction?
The higher rank you are in a faction, the better troops you should be able to recruit. When you have or are near the highest rank, you should be able to recruit all units in their taverns.
The same should be done for equipment. The higher rank you are, the better the chance should be that you can find (and find better quality) weapons and armor that specific faction favors. For example, if you're ranked high with the Swadians who like to equip their riders with the bucket-like helmets (sorry forgot its name), their armor smiths should have a higher chance of selling those helmets. The higher ranked you are, the better chance that those items will also appear in a high quality. This would help you to appear in the same dress as your hirelings for that faction and not have to spend days mindlessly wandering from town to town just to buy a good piece of equipment.
What do you guys think?
