Features
  • Well balanced economy
    • Taking 'distance', 'price', 'profits', 'transaction time' into consideration.

    • When we play PW, there are several abandoned places where people don't go. I am trying to minimize them.

It looks designed for castle wars, only. But it might change overtime. The town looks very cosy, i like it. I can smell the RP potential :razz:

If i were you, i would make the terrain a bit more "interesting"

Choke points, ambush points, fields etc.  Maybe some rolling hills? they are always nice.

Also, maybe you could add some sort of Village outside of the town walls? This is somethign that have always bothered me in PW maps. That everythign is behind walls.

IRL, most of the town used to be outside of the walls. Only the city center was inside. Add some fields, cottages and farms etc.
This will make the world feel a little bit more dýnamic, when everything isn't behind closed gates.
When you can do something NON-faction related.
Splinterts town in 3.5 did this very well.

Other than that, looks fine to me :grin:

PS: Don't forget the tavern. Everybody loves a tavern :grin: Look at Leroys map and the little middle-map tavern there. That's the perfect exemple of a tavern that you can RP in.

It's a good suggestion.

Anyway, I am trying so hard to make 'abundant RPs'. You know, if there is a church there will be a pope, a priest, templars. There will be many things to make it possible. For example, a church and a mosque (as you can see the screenshots) , 'Cityhall'(there is a court, a jail, a gourd post, an employment agency), taverns(as you said), a hospital, a blacksmith, bandit lairs, a lumbermill, farms, stables, mines(you need to explore tunnels), and so on.

But you know, things are not that easy. The biggest problem is 'FPS'. I sometimes move back and forth cuase it makes me crazy lol. Anyway, there will be much more interesting things. It's a just beginning now. Thanks for the advice and interest!  :grin:
 
Also, if you could add some hidden entrances and other ways to sneak in for assassins and thieves. But don't make them too easily acessable. I love the thrill of the danger without having to fight for it. :razz:

Playing a burglar isn't so fun when the only way in is straight through the gate past the guard :razz: But jumping on rooftops, hiding around corners, and finding new ways to get to the treasure is great fun :grin:

VoS did this very well. You could practically play Parkour on the rooftops :razz: And sneaking in to the castle was difficult, but possible :razz:

You seem to have qutie the map going there, judging by what you just wrote :razz: I cant wait for more screens ^__^

PW will be totally different with this guy making the map

Onething i am worried is the FPS.  The Harelos Town map has lots of contents, but it is causing the FPS to drop down so much.

Still i would like a Forest in the main trading route for ambushes xD

Faraway Islands with lots of obstacles

And also small river inside the continent that is narrow enough for only Viking ships

But I only see 5 castles, no city- is one of them for commoners, or have you yet to add one (or don't plan on adding one)?

Either way, I look forward to trying out this map!
 
Azrayel, i din't see the city first either, but it's actually the "castle" in the middle of the map.

There are 4 castles, one in each "corner" and one walled-in town. I believe the Town is supposed to be for the commoners.
 
Looks awesome but can you try to add a little more stuff into the city/town?  :smile: Maybe some hills and stuff to  :grin:

The center city is not a castle. You can easily enter, because it doesn't have portcullises. Its theme is 'Large city' having stone walls.
 
I would strongly suggest giving the city some sort of gate, but with alternate entrances (hidden passages etc.)


If we manage to get enough RP, it would be nice for the Town Guard to be able to protect the commoners by closing the gates, if a battle happened to take place outside.

Just something that can help the TG stop a ongoing battle from spilling off into the streets, which would undoubtedly end in the killing of many innocents.

Yah that will be cool, but there is a problem.

I am worried if I add them, maybe there will be someone bothering ppl by closing and opening gates and just block people.

I don't want to make people angry cause of a little 'mischief'.

Do u have any ideas?
 
Yeah, that turned out to be a problem in the first version of VoS.

Perhaps a side-gate that can only be opened by commoners?

Or maybe the gate just takes a little while to open, not too long for a serf, but a little too long for a knight fighting off 3 enemies.

Just something so that we don't get combating riders at full speed running into the town.

Wow DOMA; I must say, you're pretty legit.

Those visuals looked really good! Throne rooms and those other buildings you've included are really a great use of the new interior system.

the town is wonderful and the scenery looks very beautiful with all the addons.

I Can't wait to try it out :grin:

May i suggest adding some practice areas in the castles? I can see into the courtyard of the desert castle, and it seem rather empty.

Add some working practice-dummys & targets,(Can be found in Leroys map and the tutorial)  and perhaps some weak practice weapons? To give the soldiers something to do while waiting for orders 8]

Or perhaps that was planned in the last 20%?

PS: Is there only 1 mine?
