Not true - you can set it to be 4x bigger (2x longer and 2x wider), if you know which number in hex code to change (manually). But such map would probably lag as hell and it would be boring to travel so long.... so proper sentence should be: "It is the largest scene size that Warband system can hold reasonably." :wink:

About map - I don't like criticizing with only screenshots as reference, but there is one thing that feels wrong for me: there is too much empty spaces in castles and town - nobody would spend a lot of money to build walls around nothing. I would either reduce castles size or fill them with some buildings.

It's great how you listened to all the suggestions and applied the changes that were asked for.

Also, Calenloki. Remember that alot of the empty space in the castles are "Archery Ranges". I have a feeling that at peak player-count these areas will be buzzing with activity.

However, maybe you could add a park or something to the town, to fill out the empty space? The more "crammed" together the town is, the cosier it feels. Add an area with some grass, a bench and some bushes.

Ps: I can't see a well anywhere in the town. A well is a great way to add some Character to large, empty areas. It looses the empty feeling and makes it feel more planned.

Would it be possible for you to post the download link so that we, as players, can try it out? Maybe RCC can host it on their server for a day, so that we can try it with a larger player count? See if the size really is a problem.
 
Hmm. Don't overdo it. It would be nice with some houses outside the walls (not only the farm), and maybe a stable, where a person can offer to guard peoples horses for a fee. But definately not much mroe than a few buildings.
If you make it too big, it will loose the cosy feeling that i like about it right now :/
 
The map is looking excellent! I'll have to actually get on to check it out once it's hosted.

I know it's pretty late in production, but it looks like you've got plenty of room left in the surrounding ocean. Have you considered adding a small island or two?

Actually, I was supposed to do like what you think, but there are many problems with ships. I don't want people make ships mixed up and I don't want ships to be messed. If there are four islands, it means increasing of messes of ships .

Wells = Good idea!

Those are great decorations that can be added to the town or castles.

I will upload soon after finishing sths.

Actually, there is not so much plenty of room in the surrounding ocean. Boundaries of the scene are near the island, and just one or two ships can pass there.

As can be seen in this image, the water that is accesable has a distinct color over the border water, so that's not a problem.

I do have an issue estimating the scale of the map, as the screenshots can't really give a proper impression. Got anything to compare it to?
 
I believe he said that the map was 2X the size of the current RCC test map.

Also, judging from earlier screenshots, that water color difference only seems visible when playing with Directx7. If it's not a problem for ships runnign into the barrier, then i see no reason to change the look.
However, an underground reef would be good if the ships might get stuck in the barrier otherwise.

Another suggestion. I do see an empty area between the Island Castle and the town. Would it be possible to put a Tournament field here or would it become too crammed?

And also as you said, a jousting stadium will be added on the area that you referred.

I will make them as simple as possible because my first goal is 'optimizing FPS'

As can be seen in this image, the water that is accesable has a distinct color over the border water, so that's not a problem.
