New in Warband

Hi guys;

I'm playing a little Warband and i love the Native but i have some questions:

1) Why some fiefs like Knudarr Castle is not for Jarl Knudarr and Haringoth Castle is for Count Haringoth?
2) Why the Merchant of Praven is black and the brother of the tutorial quest white? (A little strange).
3) Why The Manhunters are so weak?
4) How much renown is needed for have a nice fief? (The kings always choose other with fiefs or for himself).

1) They aren't given the fiefs I don't think, perhaps a coincedence, or they are named after the castle.
2) I don't know.. very strange.
3) I agree. They need to be stronger if they are hunting sea raiders especially.
4) Try and get a better relationship with the King, try and capture a castle/town. If you get awarded one, accept it. Because if you decline you won't get another one for a while.

I hate accept fiefs so far away because i can't defend properly.

I can try to modify some of this but I think Talewords don't care anymore for the native module.

I try to make a neutral faces for the merchants but i can't assign it to the merchants. When i start the modification they have another face.  :sad:

check the mods forum. There are tons of 'Native Expanded Experience' mods with new features using the same world map.

And later on check the total conversation mods too!

I start to play this game recently and this game have a lot of nice modifications.. But I love the native and I just want play the Native with some changes I think it needed.
Some 'Native Expanded Experience' mods have a lot of new items or changes i don't like at all. But ty for the advise.

He was adopted, don't tell him, he doesn't know yet.

They are quite weak, aren't they? Once they level up into higher tier units, they're not as bad, but that will take a while. It can also be hard to acquire them, as you can only get them by defeating bandit parties, which can be a bit tedious. However, they only carry blunt weapons and are rather cheap, IIRC. I always kinda mingled them in if I had other cavalry units.

I thought there was actually a code in the game to ensure that fiefs named after a certain lord would go to said lord. Maybe some conflict in your game has caused the fief to change hands? Then again I haven't messed with the code in years so I could be completely wrong.
 
1) Good question. I suppose either the fiefs got taken away from the lords a long time ago, however this game is supposed to be for the player to make up their own story. In your game it is up to you to determine why these anomalies (?) happen.

2) Maybe adopted? This game doesn't concentrate on that. It is different each time.

3) Who says they have to be strong? It also depends on your game difficulty setting.

4) To be a sworn vassal, 200. If you want to besiege, then it doesn't matter. You just need a good army.
 
1) Well  I'm playing the Native module of Steam and I don't understand why.
2) If the npc brother is generic, I think make neutral faces, is better, for all the merchants because is more inmmersive.

Well, this is true but in general i think this groups are so weak and they can be a little more balanced.

Now I'm modding some things of the Native. For example, the faces, I'm trying to balance the Manhunters, assign fiefs properly (Initial fiefs like Knudarr or Etrosq)...

Yeah, I've been a Swadian for a very long time, I've always seen Count Haringoth own Haringoth castle from the very beginning.

Yeah this is true, but Jarl Knudarr or Count Etrosq don't have always Knudarr Castle or Etrosq Castle. I go to change this in my own "Native modification".  :grin:

I don't care if the merchant family is black or white, I just think in a Medieval era, all the family is all white or all black, just for a immersive game.
Obviously this is my own opinion.

While it is true that two fully white parents could theoretically have a baby with a bit darker skin, the chance is >99% that the wife simply cheated.

Unless you got those genes of being black way back. But anyway I guess i'm adopted :p
