Another update, i added two more pics of Turkish "chichak" style helmets and a visor for a Kipchak-style masked helmet.

By the way is just me, or are other people surprised by the fact that although Armagan is Turkish, there are hardly any Turkish style helmets - like the chichak - in the game?

dont worry, my mod is going to have all those turkish helmets you want

an armet like this one would rock

I would like all, but I want the armet and houndskull the most, and then the gothic sallet... with gothic armor of course!

Thats an awesome pic, though it's a bit bird like . I think Armets would go great with Swadian knights.

haha yeah it is xD I didn´t think of that
a slightly less bird like design would be totally awesome, I just grabbed that on off of google because it looked good and very similiar to what I had in mind ^^

If it was a little less pointy it would be perfect in my opinion.

The bird-like appearence is no coincidence, visors of this type are sometimes called sparrow's beak visors.

Here's a photograph of that same helmet (or one very like it):

And a couple of more typical armets:

I'd love to see the klappvisor, hounskull and great bascinets, as well an armet and sugarloaf helm included in the expansion. A man can dream.

Damn you necro-ed this thread.

Are klappvisor, houndskull and great basinets and sugar loaf helmets all within the time period of M&B?

I know the armet most likely isn't. Klappvisor, houndskull and great basinets I would assume aren't suitable to the time period. Sugar loaf helmet I assume would fit.

Yes all correct BUT; plate armour, bascinets and brigandines weren't around in 1257 AD either, yet they are in the game. I for one would not mind seeing Klappvisor and houndskull bascinets in the game as well.

This isn't in period either, but I rather like it (I also wonder how it would look in plain steel or black):

That looks sort of bizarre, Aqtai. Something I would imagine a LEGO knight to wear. A closed burgonet would be another helm I wouldn't mind seeing included. There's a bunch of cool helmets in this photostream:

*looks around* I hope our plea does not fall on deaf ears. Aside from multi-player, my one hope for Warband is new helmets.

I agree.

Hmm I wana see moar variants of what we have now.

Example: Footman's helmet maybe with a arming cap/cap, leather/cloth, maille aventail or maille coif.
