New Factions Being Added?

I was pubbing in the IHA and a Sargeant from the 57th informed me of the addition of the American, Spanish, and Ottoman factions.

Just wanting to know is this true? And is there a thread somewhere where the devs have posted this? I don't want any assumptions just some facts because heck, the addition of those factions wouldn't be historically correct for their participation in the wars (wouldn't matter to me anyway, it's a game) but dang, it would make the game even more enjoyable and diverse.

Anyway, shoot me a link or something if you know. Thanks all.

The only way we'd get new factions is if the current Warband engine gets rewritten as according to the developers, the current version of NW's content is pushing the current memory limits. We could have one more faction....but that'd be constant Warband crashes for everyone and no stability at all.

Hopefully this DLC will get a second round with Mount and Blade 2 in the future who knows?

Even if new factions were added by the devs I'm sure the USA and Ottomans would be the last faction on their minds.

I said to a bunch of lads when it came up in pub should you wish the factions that bad I'm sure you could find a texturer or do it yourself and make a nice replacement for the faction you want , looking at the current amount of re-textures happening you'll likely have a 2nd french army to choose from soon hehe

The devs are already working on another project, NW will receive a few light patches and laid to rest i guess

I doubt that. Someone will start making a mod for it, similar to L'Aigle, that wont turn into something you have to buy, therefore making a similar DLC useless.

Loses focus with the overall faction balance. Too much isn't good, just mod it in.

Factions can just be modded in when the Module System is released, if I was a dev I'd just let the community do it, so... yeah, just wait for the Module System and for people to start modding (Shot and Shell is being ported over, for instance).

I'd love it if there was a mod that could enable the base factions and modded in factions to fight against each other.
