New Faction for Player

I want to create a faction and use it only as a player faction. By that I mean it won't be on the map when starting a new game, but the player will be able to choose it as his culture when making his kingdom.

From what I can tell, I will need to ;

-Create troops (stats/equipment/upgrade)
-Create faction
-Add troop to faction
-Make faction one of the available culture

Also, I will not be working with native, but with Floris mod pack.

I've read that its possible to edit stuff using the txt. files but I would be surprised if I could do all the above using them.

The only modding tool i have ever used is Morgh's editor, but I'm pretty sure I can only set my troops with this. What I'm really unsure of is the faction part.

If anyone could give me a few tips it would be greatly appreciated!
 
I think this is what you are looking for. I'm pretty sure Floris mod is Open Source so using the Module System to edit is much easier but it's your choice  :smile:
 
So I am able to do this with .txt only after all!

If the 1st unit I create with Morgh's editor is the recruit, he will be recruited from my villages using the code in the thread you just linked, and then he simply upgrades to the higher tiers.

Just bumped into something. Since I'm not modding Native but Floris, I assume the troop ID of my recruit won't be 1 more than the last native unit.

How can i find the ID of my recruit? The editor doesn't seem to be giving the information.
 
Every new unit you add will be added to the bottom of update_volunteer_troops_in_village in scripts.txt
