Too bad I don't use Reddit, and I don't intend to start now. I guess I'll just keep an eye on it and read others' questions.

There was a slight misunderstanding with the subreddit mod when I said I would be happy to respond to an E3 feedback thread there. The AMA part was added after I had accepted (which has now been removed). It most certainly isn't an AMA about the entire project, so don't be getting all jealous now.

As I told the users on the Steam forums - you are all more than welcome to contact me with feedback regarding what we showed at E3 and how you feel we could have done better. I will always listen to what you have to say and do my best to address your issues. I know we don't have an area on this forum for Bannerlord yet which would make the whole process a little more difficult, but you can PM me any feedback you have and I will try to respond, (you can even post in here if you like.) I would love to hear your thoughts on how you feel the event went, and especially some ideas on what you would like to see from us next.

Most thoughts and feedback (including mine) are on the Bannerlord thread in the Warband forums. I'll still send you a PM, I don't think you'll be able to answer but I'll give it a try nonetheless.

Well rip.

I am trying to do my best to engage with you all but I am new to the company; I have a limited knowledge of the entire project at this stage and any attempt at a full AMA at this point would be a waste of all of our time. It is something that I would like for us to do as a company at some point before release, but I would have to run the idea by Frank first who would be entirely more suited to the task.

I think doing something along the lines of the modding Q&A that was suggested would be a great start.

I do make an effort to read that thread, but the conversation moves in so many different directions it is hard to keep track of what is directly related to what was shown at E3 (I think the current discussion has shifted to conspiracy theories about how the project is funded.) If you PM me your feedback I can assure you that I will read it.

Hehe, yes it kinda shifted to that. I should've sent you a PM, hopefully you received it unless I messed up. Thank you so much for trying to engage the community. If you feel like you cannot or don't want to answers those questions, please ignore. However, my feedback's right there if you want to read it! Thanks again. ^^

Since you are new and trying, a few words of advice. Much of the negative reactions you are receiving are not only a result of the current situation with f.e. the E3 presentation, but a culmination of frustrations that have grown due to the lack of communication over the past few years. People are sceptical because of their prior experiences with this company and it will take time for you to overcome that. More importantly, it will take action rather than just expressions of intent. And by action I don't mean blind or unilateral actionism, but rather acting upon the concerns and input of the community. A long standing concern of the moderation team, for instance, has been the lack of active tech support (by TW) on this forum - despite it being an official outlet and having a support section.

Absolutely.

Well, since you're taking feedback, I have sent you some.

Yes, he's actually taking it into account and I'm very happy about it. Finally some communication!

This is something I have brought up a few times since arriving here. We definitely need to make a greater effort on this front and provide the kind of support that our customers deserve, especially with technical issues that could arise from faults with our products.

Are you able to provide us with the general gist of the response you received?

That's a good point, actually. What was the name of the guy who used to be quite active in the WB Tech Support board? C... something. If he wasn't a TW employee he was at least like a board moderator. Ever since he stopped being around as much a few years ago, has there been any official (or semi-official) tech support around here? I'm genuinely curious; when I set foot outside of Off-Topic, this board and the Bannerlord thread are usually as far as I go.

You are probably referring to Caba'drin, a member of the moderation team. I don't think there ever was a dedicated support guy from TW (outside of their Email).

Generally I think people understand the need for it. The timing wasn't ideal (with it being the run up to E3) but the seed has been planted and it is something I will fight for as I feel it will benefit both the community and TaleWorlds.

Cheers for the honesty. Also inb4 you become the dedicated tech guy.  :iamamoron:

Yeah, that's him. Thanks.

Well, the fact that you're even telling us that you tried is more than I can recall seeing anyone else do. Perhaps a new guy with a fresh perspective will do TW some good.

One good idea (in my opinion, at least) would be to hire a couple of experienced coders from the community ranks. That way, TW won't have to divert its time from developing Bannerlord, and it could be a good opportunity for them to get some spare cash.

Edit: Judging on other examples (such as Gaijin), they select most of their tech support guys among the forum members. I don't know whether they get paid or not for doing a good job, but at least they don't leave you without an answer when you happen to stumble on a problem.
