i've decided to start a new character and fiddled around with a memory editor again, and by playing around with the stat numbers, i've discovered some things:
-strength afffects damage done from melee weapons, throwing weapons, and bow. crossbow damage doesn't seem to be affected by anything (maybe proficiency)
-agility increases both attackspeed (a little) and movement speed (a lot)
-weapon proficiency increase is determined by the amount of damage you do. i tested this by turning up the strength to obscene numbers, and one headshot from the bow did like 250,000 damage and increased proficiency to 396 (from like 25).
-the length of the burst of blood that comes out from defeated foes is dependant on the damage done. because of this, you will crash the game with a vertex error if you do too much damage outside of the arena and trainer.
-skill stats and proficiency stats are not stored as integers, so there's really no easy way to search for them. it can be done if you're diligent, but i dont' have the patience to do it. it'd be nice to increase skill stats beyond 8, but i'm not gonna try

edit: you need the mag7mod installed for this to work!
note that athletics was left at 0 because at 8 you ran faster than a horse... if you'd like to run faster than a horse, then the stat points are there for you to get there. crossbow stats were left untouched because there was no efficient way to level them up other than clicking, so if you so wish, i've left you 65000+ proficiency points if you'd like to do the clicking
