Nekked Steel Succession Game

I want to try out an infantry character and make the character female so I can put troops in my husbands garrison . I don't think I will go hardcore and have no armor or I will go nuts. What tips do you have for someone who wants to make a infantry character. I am going to ally with Empire in the beginning since they have the best and most versatile infantry.

Well, I'm sure the other guys will have some actually good advice but my first thought is export, mod for high speed, and import. This makes you the fastest thing on foot which is a freaking blast but certainly does not make you overpowered because horses still trample you every chance they get so it all works out as far as I am concerned: smash everything walking, serpentine approach to missile troops, real challenge when dealing with excessive amounts of cavalry alone... Party!

But that's just me. Well, I guess not JUST me because a bunch of people have joined me on this little adventure. Anyway, for a completely straight-laced character I'd still go highest Agility and athletics you can, medium armor, bow that is more fast than powerful, fastest 1H weapon you can get (ebony swords, cross hilts, or if you want shield smashing knights war axe) and a polearm that is more than 200 long and at least 85 speed though I'd sacrifice length and damage for speed any day. Use the thrust on the polearm to dead-stop horses and then start trying to cut their noses off.

To me, speed is everything. A powerful, slow enemy is nothing if he can't lay a hit on you because he is either too busy getting hit by you or you are dodging out of range - Hence the fastest 1H you can find. Assuming you'll have the Qualis gems to get runed weapons you are going to want a glaive (I recommend the 128 fast saphire) and bow (emerald). With a 244 long glaive and some serious powerstrike and proficiency you are going to be unbeatable in close range because few if any enemies you fight will be faster than you. Add a full 10 power draw, high bow prof and all you need fear are bunches of horses (jatu) and lucky enemy shots.

Edit: As for "no armor = go nuts" I would seriously recommend you grab one of these saves and try it out a little on your own. You have to develop different tactics but they are tactics that serve a player in heavy armor too - they are just less effective. The trade-off is that heavily armored 80% of the attacks directed at you will have to be either blocked or absorbed. Playing Nekked only about 5% need be dealt with and with a fast weapons set-up most of those are blocked and returned.

Glad to see how this has taken off! Gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.
I know, right?! And we appear to be the resident foot character experts too!

The only way we could have done this particular character is by modding the stats. But i will have some more in depth foot char advice later.

This is the hardest game I have ever played...I also have been going hard core and not quitting without saving...luckily we (and I got a bunch more) have a bunch of Barclay Heavy Footmen so when I get hit in the face with a gravity hammer and have to watch the rest of the battle we still usually end up victorious...

I made it

Here you go

Posting this now since my time will be up while I'm sleeping. (Sorry guys, not waking up early to post it. I need my beauty sleep )

Chapter 6: Day 81-94

I woke up in some danky tavern in some city I don't even recognize. Two things crossed
my mind. 1. Where the hell am I and why don't I remember anything? and 2. Where are my
clothes? I guess that is really three things but I felt that the first two kinda went
well together so I counted that as one. For some weird reason undaunted by the later
question I headed downstairs to find out where I was. It turns out, I was in the town
of Javiksholm. I talked to the Barkeeper Alfred to find out if there were any jobs in
the area for a woman like myself. It turns out there were lots, but I decided to head
to the town of Valonbray to talk to some man named Jorn the Axe about a bandit problem
he was having.

As I left the tavern the whole room got up and followed me out the door.
as I walked into the street I turned around and asked two questions. 1. "Who are you
all and why are you following me?" and 2. "Why are you staring at my ass?" Yes, I know
that is three questions but again, the first two go well together. I'm not going to
explain myself every time that happens...They all gave me weird looks and one of them
replied "You hired us to work for you..." ... I have no recollection of this...Why can
I not remember anything? Bewildered I walked off and hoped they were all going to go
away. They didn't but I never said anything further on the matter.

The trip to Valonbray was rather uneventful, although we were followed the whole way by
a group of Knights of the Dawn...Luckily we somehow ran faster on foot than they could
on their horses. Not exactly sure how that's possible but I'm not going to complain. I
finally found Jorn the Axe and took a job to kill a Jatu raiding party.

SecondScreen.jpg

I'm honestly not sure why a Jatu raiding party was all the way over by Valonbray but I didn't argue
with the man. I took the job. Walking around Valonbray looking for these evasive Jatu
raiders, those knights I talked about earlier caught up to us. When all was said and
done I don't remember much of the actual battle, we won...But I was knocked out within
the first two minutes of fighting.

I gave up on trying to find these damned Jatu and decided to head to new territory. I
was tired of the cold so I decided to head down south to the desert. On the way down
we were attacked by a group of treasure seekers...I think it might have something to do
with the 8 or 9 treasure chests I have in my possession but honestly its hard to say.
Again, what happened during the battle may be a bit hazy to me...Can't exactly say why
but my men obviously did a great job because we won again. Which is a good thing
because it would have been a shame if those treasure hunters had gotten a hold of my
booty...get your mind out of the gutter...Turns out my men grabbed a couple of fine
lances off their bodies, which was a good idea, I think they will fetch a pretty penny.
We were pretty beat up so I headed to the nearest town, being Singal.

We rested in Singal for a few days until we were all healthy and then I headed to the
tavern to see if I could bolster my forces with some new men. I hired some Barclay
Heavy Footmen and a man that calls himself Ediz.

RecruitingEdiz.jpg

Then once again headed out into the
world. I headed back toward Javiksholm and stopped by the armor shop. I bought myself a
cute straw sun hat. Not entirely sure why they have a straw hat in an armor shop, but
it was a good price so I just couldn't turn it down. I found more Barclay Heavy Footmen
for hire in the Javiksholm tavern and offered them a job, to which they gladly accepted.
We headed north to windholm and when we arrived I naturally headed to the tavern. Finding
nothing of interest, we left.

We headed back down south to Valonbray. I decided I was tired of eating cabbage so I
stopped by the marketplace and bought a large assortment of new foods. Emboldened by my
new food variety I decided to launch an attack on a Vanskerry Settlement. The attack was
going well until a lucky throw of a Jarid hit me in the face and knocked me unconscious.
When I came around 2 things crossed my mind. 1. How am I still alive and how long was I
out? and 2. Let's go kill those son's of guns that did this to me! Don't even say it...
Sadly though, by the time we got back to where they were hiding, they had already upped
and left.

I headed back to Javiksholm where I took a job to kill more bandits, as I left the town
I couldn't help but hope that these bandits would be easier to find than the damn Jatu.
Sure enough we found the bandits right outside of town. There were 44 of them, I loved
our odds. Of course we easily annihilated all 44 of the bandits...and when I say "we" I
mean my men...I don't really remember much of the battle.

Killingbanditsforquest.jpg

I returned to Javiksholm and he gave me a measly 110 denars for our trouble. Our contract was up with the king of the Fierdsvain...Although...I don't really remember signing any contract, but then again I don't remember much of anything lately. I decided to renew the contract anyway. I then headed to the tavern to get some shut eye.

NOTE: We now have an unfinished quest to find those stupid ass Jatu...I have a feeling they went back to where they are supposed to be...no clue why I got a quest for this in Valonbray but I assumed they would be near by...

Rules question: are we allowed to use the tweak that allows unlimited arrows as a seige defender? I REALLY don't see naked being able to do much without it

Um, after the last issue I'm scared to let anyone change anything. Can't we access the inventory during sieges any way? I haven't been in many sieges so I don't know for sure but could have sworn that was already built in to PoP.

Even if it's not I always find plenty of arrows stuck in walls and on dead archers during sieges...

Conclusion: undecided but leaning towards tweak nothing; so far the only thing we've changed is her agility and athletics and I'd like to keep the changes minimal. Anyone else have an opinion?

I say no. Just so we don't have to deal with more errors in the save file transfers...too much of a hassle.

I helped in 2 seige battles already. Didnt get very many kills, but the relation boost was good. Helped take Avendor and Kennett castle.

Really, I havent accomplished much in this play through just:
