Negative Health, Unable to Enter Towns, Battles, etc.

I recently attempted to use the game tweaks provided by MageLord. Some worked, others didn't, but it was no big deal. The game played just fine. But a few days afterwards, the game pretty much killed itself. Shortly after loading a savegame or creating a new file, my character would automatically get like negative 1465096 (not that exact number, just an example) health, and be unable to enter battles, or any other screen where you move yourself with WASD. The overworld map and shop menus and stuff work fine, but you really can't play the game without battles. Now the weirdest thing about this glitch is that it happened in all my mods too.
So I figured oh, well I better reinstall M&B. But that didn't fix it, and neither has anything else I've tried. If anyone has any idea what caused this glitch and how to fix it, please let me know.
I just tried a quick battle like 5 minutes ago, and this is what happened: Game froze, and I got a C++ error, but my character had full health (the quick battle started but, it froze before any moving could happen).

Uninstall and put a fresh copy on?


its possible that the tweaks have bugs in them (as does everything). If you got a C++ Error, go to microsoft and try updating. If you already have the newest, try uninstalling then reinstalling.

Some specs on your comp would be nice. I know that Vista itself causes alot of bugs in many games that run fine on XP and Win7 (Ie GTA4 eats memory on vista and crashes, and fallout three freezes when you hit "new game")

Its also possible that somehow its running off an external system file. Any new programs? sometimes side-by-side installation of new antivirus can cause problems (ie, Norton 360 wont let ANY game run on my system)

try that and see if any of it works

Thanks. I don't think it has to do with the tweaks, as I did an uninstall after the game stopped working properly, and it was still screwed up. I unfortunately don't know what the specs on this comp are because it was given to us by a friend (used), but I use XP (Vista FTL). I had recently installed a virus blocker program, maybe that's it...
