Hey, im new to this game and to these forums so excuse my lack of experiance.
I started singleplayer as a noble (with my own banner). I traveled around Calradia (mainly the Kingdom of Rhodoks, Nords and Swadia) building up my renown through many fights with bandits. On my travels I met Ymira who influenced me to try and get involved in the political scene of the Rohdoks. When i went to King Graveth my renown was good enough for him to make me a vassal straight away. As a vassal i tried to maintain good relations with al the other lords. I am on excelent terms with Count Matheas (mariiied his daughter) and on good terms with Count Gharmal. During my vassalage i aquired Caraf Castle and Uxhal (I may also take the castle next to Uxhal as it is week and my army is strong).
Here come my problems however: I am confused as to what to do. The Rhodok lords are all at each others necks, and it is hard to stay on equaly good terms withh all of them. However, I do aspire to be a King and sent one of my companions to Jalkela to report on the realms politics. He said many lords would even deflect from King Graveth.
Should I join sides with one group of the lords inside the realm, and could this lead to civil war?
How can i create my own Kingdom? I assume i will first need to defect from King Graveth, but will i keep my fiefs? I need help, either as to how i can start my own kingodm and recruit vassals, or as to how i can become the King of the Rohdoks. Please help!!!!!!

Well, first of all, it's impossible to keep good relations with everyone, some dislike each other no matter what you do. If you want to rule your own kingdom then the easiest way is to conquer a castle or city and ask to be given to you. If the king denies the request you can break free with or without your fiefs. I don't think you can be the leader of a rebel faction if you give your fiefs up (never tried it) so I suggest your renounce your allegiance and keep the fiefs. In the newer versions you'll be a rhodok rebel and then can actually give a name to your kingdom. From here on problems appear. In older versions of the game the old-fashioned "gang-up on human player" was the way things were but now I think they worked on it a bit, although you should expect to be attacked by at least 2 factions at the same time. If you have good relations with some of the lords you can try to bring them to your side. This will be difficult, you could try fist with your father-in-law and then some of his friends. Hope this helped, I'm a bit confused, haven't played M&B for a while and in the last 2 weeks I've played both original and warband and a few mods.

Thanks. I captured Suno but Graveth didnt give it to me so I renounced my oath and kept my fiefs (Uxhal, Caraf castle, Suno, Vyndicourt castle). I persuaded my father in law (count Matheas) to join me and now Veluca is also part of my kingdom. No other factions declered war on me, however, and i foucsed soley on fighting the Rhodoks. During the fighting I made two of my companions into vassals (BUnduk-Tribune Bunduk, Marnid-Lord Marnid). I couldnt get any other Rhodok lords to join me. However the war went great and in a matter of days i took control of: Grunwalder castle, Eggleron castle, Calmar castle, Etrosque (excuse my spelling mistakes) castle, th o9ther castle next to Yalen, Yalen and Jelkela!! All in all i absolutly trashed the Rhodoks even though I only had 4 week armies. I aminly achieved this because the Rhodoks were at war with Swadia and the Saranid at the same time. King graveth still dosent want peace, even though he only has 4 castles! I however need to get more vassals and i dont know how?!

It's very hard to do that, and I think you've made a mistake by giving fiefs to your companions. I don't know if it's the same for villages, but if you give them castles or towns the "real" lords will not appreciate it. I tried to play the "native" for a few days joining the vaegirs and fighting the khergits (I hate them) and when time came for me to have my own kingdom not many lords wanted to join me, not to mention my father-in-law, Gundur, whose daughter I stole from him.

So I gave a village to Artimener to hold as a fief and no vaegir or nord lord complained, I had good relations with many of them, but when I gave a castle to Katrin, 90% reproached me that and lost between 4 and 8 friendship points. So I got stuck as well and didn't know what to do to get other lords to join me. Probably the best way is to defeat them and then ask them to join you, or try to befriend lords that neighbor your kingdom. they will probably see you as a threat and if you treat them well and become friends with them they'll join you, although I expect that would take some time.  Let me know what other ways you find to convince them to join you.

Right now im just not giving out any fiefs so i could atract lords. Also, i found out lords will be more willing to join you if you are stronger then their realm militarily.
