Need help editing game files (not cheating).

Hey, I accidentally put some points in shield for my character and several of my heroes... I was just wondering how to edit the game files to get rid of the points in shield on them and put them into something else. If I set their shield skill values to zero will I retain the points taken out for use with something else? I bought the game through steam, so if you could offer any help you have my thanks in advance.

Those are stored in the savegame file, and since you can't export/import companions my guess would be the only way to redistribute their skill points would be with memory hacking tools such as Cheat Engine. Which is going to be pretty tedious.

So in other words you can change your character's but your companions are screwed. I suppose you could modify how much XP they get and give them a few extra levels to make up for it.
