i have been looking for a bit now and i cant find any so i am asking is thay any ? i did try to make my own but it look very bad

I don't think there are many elf/goblins around. You're probably better off making your own. A lot of practice helps a lot.

this is an interesting thread, as the mod i'm making (i've only just started) is eventually going to feature elves and goblins as well as dwarfs, something that i've wondered (but since i'm not at the nessicary point i'm yet to ask) is is it possible to change the height of different troops - after all dwarfs are famous for being shorter

You can't exactly make them shorter until we can modify skeletons and hitboxes.

Actually, i managed to accidentally figure out a way to make units taller, but not shorter.
Explain yourself now! Does it change the hitboxes as well?

Share your wisdom, oh wise-old one. I'm sure someone will find a way how to make them shorter, aswell, if you tell us how you made them taller.

Elves and goblins are supposed to look bad .

When i think about it, it could probably be reversed to make them smaller as well.

As i said, it was by accident, so i didn't check to see if if edit the hitboxes.

What i did was to accidentally uncheck the "previously SMD" when imported to BRF edit.
This made the rigged item 10 times larger, but kept the rigging intact. (This is quite obvious, so since it hasn't been used, i guess there are plenty of downsides with it)
I guess this could be used to other way if you check the previously SMD on an item that already is the correct size.

It is probably not usable to make fightable creatures out of it. But it could look good as villagers or prisoners etc in a fantasy mod.

Well, the skeleton wouldn't actually change (nor would the hitbox) afaik.

I'm pretty sure the dwarves & giants are still not moddable. The skeleton size function in the module system doesn't work -- I hope it'll work when Warband comes out or something.

That would be great, I agree.

As far as to the goblins and stuff there are many mods that have them. Just ask if you may use them.

Some examples:

Betrayal at Calradia
Chronicles of Talera
Light and Darkness - Heroes of Calradia

I'm gonna try this out to see what happens.

Well, my first try was terrible. Giant white... things were everywhere. The skeletons went crazy or something.

Could large clothes work for giants? When you equip people with different sized clothes, some make them look really big and hulky. Perhaps huge clothes might make giant men? Not sure about the dwarves though

Earl of swadia, I think that does work, yeah. But you're gonna have to make (heads)helmets to fit the bodies exactly, because the head won't move upwards, I'd think.

The hitboxes won't change.

Thinking about it some more, i think i replaced the existing mesh. (It is starting to be a while, so i am not remembering the details, but it worked perfectly, the skeleton stayed intact when this happened.)
I have an armor this happened to in my mod if you don't believe me. (Without the patch)
It's a big download, but if you decide to look for it, it's called shinra officer armor.
