You're more delusional than curious.

This is the only account I've had. A couple months ago one of the developers said I should join and pitch my ideas here on Steam. Almost exactly a month ago I joined, and I really think that developer was absolutely out to lunch recommending this forum to anybody.

No explosive impacts coming, though. I'm just going to enjoy myself and show no more restraint than the norm I see demonstrated here. The rules I read when I joined are obviously superfluous ideas someone once had but aren't applied. I just had the wrong idea about what this place was, and the little guys attacking me here really aren't much to make fun of. lol

Was referring to this thread and the second site but - Yes you are right.

Was more in disbelief that someone so new to the forums would have so much anger to give out. Usually takes white knights a year or two to burn out in the way you are
I'm not a white knight -- that's your mistake in presuming -- and I'm pretty quick to catch on.

Too weird to live, too rare to die. I get it
Nah, nothing so extravagant. Just someone who was convinced by an errant developer to join thinking this was a productive forum to engage Taleworlds and pitch ideas. I'm a guy who enjoys playtesting and takes it seriously, and for developers that have earned my respect I'm willing to do that voluntarily so I get a better game out of the deal. That hardly makes me anyone special, or a white knight -- it just makes me someone who was putting effort in.

This place is ridiculously toxic, though, and honestly I get the issues Taleworlds has been having with community-engagement now. I also see that my efforts will be wasted.

So now I'm just going to give it back to the people who have been giving it to me. Simple as that. I can enjoy it, too.

What second site would that be, oh delusional one? I am BerzerkerJay, and when you see me in PvP beating you over and over again, then you can pretend you know me.

This is both sad and entertaining to read, the conclusion should be rather explosive, brace for impact

I feel bad for the op though, the thread has completely derailed and dropped the nearby cliff.
Haha that's pure Gold. So true like a burning car running over a cliff and mid air hit by an asteroid.

While on one level this is funny as hell, the real possibility of a mental health issue is kind of sad.
Let's hope the moderators get here in time and prescribe some therapy, so we can get back to celebrating the EA anniversary.

I mean your general line of thinking and placement of blame is off but I understand where you are coming from. If you had been here for the last few years and been involved with the forums throughout the beta period I know you would have a fairly different opinion(or not). There aren't even many people left on here who gave the best and most thought through feedback to TW because of their shortcomings on communication and dismissal of anything not in their vision.

This forum is but a husk.

A forum is a place for people to share ideas and opinions. People can come and go. This forum is toxic, and ridiculously so.

As far as your opinion of my line of thinking and where I place blame, well, that's really just your opinion now, isn't it?

I certainly won't care if the community and the developers don't care. I can dish out disrespect, and probably better than the dimwitted peons dominating this place.

I've hardly ever seen more drama in a thread. You guys are consistently breaking at least 3 points in the spam category.

1.2 Spam
Stupid, pointless, and annoying messages (spam) can clog up the forum, making relevant and accurate information harder to find. The definition of spam includes, but is not limited to, the following actions:
  • Derailing a thread's topic.
  • Making non-constructive posts.
  • Disruptive or persistently argumentative behaviour.

Yes, we've already determined the rules aren't followed here. This derailment never would have happened if 1.1 was ever followed here.

That's why I said "or not", everyone is welcome to whatever belief they like.

Only toxicity I'm seeing is your aggression and its palpable. Forums are a place to voice dissatisfaction, concerns and rant endlessly about what bothers you in the development of the game as much as reporting bugs, not to throw random insults and have tantrums about nothing in particular like I really only see you doing at this point.

To the topic at hand though. I'll wager $5 over PayPal that this month passes with no recognition of the EA anniversary!

Inappropriate behavior (flaming)

The insults are new. Up to this point I have intentionally avoided them, even while being barraged with them in this forum. That much is evident on this post.

I never said I'm going to be some stalwart contrast to the forum's toxicity. In fact, I think I basically said I'm joining the crowd, so maybe you should up your reading-comprehension to the same level as your indignation.

Respect for respect. Now I'm just accepting the way this place is.

I believe we all have inherent worth and are deserving of respect. No need for the little jabs im trying to help you get acclimated so that this place might be a better experience for you. I think you might be projecting your own feelings onto the forums instead of really trying to understand what others are saying. We are saying that we love and care for you as a new member of the community. We want you to find peace so that you might share real opinions here and join us in having our collective input be purposely shut down by the devs.

Have you, though? You accused Hinds (that'd be Kentucky) of "ankle-biting" yet a casual read through your posts in the last couple weeks shows that you don't handle differing opinions with much grace. You've written several long, detailed posts, but your attitude quickly becomes dismissive when you are met with resistance that you don't think is of equal quality to your contributions. Not only that, but your underhanded snipes (typically parting shots at the ends of your post) are directly insulting and only incite further negativity. You are not so clever with your words that rubes like us can't see these jabs for what they are. I can't wait to read another rant about rampant favoritism and bias for muting you, so I'll tell you now that the people you'll want to address your grievances to are @Count Delinard , @IceNoVa , or @Reus . Have a good one!

68K ? Are you referring to the patch thread? A lot of views in forums are repeats - same few people coming back. Forums like these are frequented by the most active posters.

On topic - the game is a success in every objective measurement. It doesn't mean some of the criticism found in this forum is illegitimate but the game is a success. I'm sure TW is smart enough to filter through it.

Warband was a success. They were able to feed off of that success in the run up towards Bannerlord.

Bannerlord did great. In sales. In the first week. Then the numbers started to dwindle. Well dwindle is putting it mildly. Plummeted.

Because the game is nothing like its predecessor.

So no, this game has not been a success. It has been buggy, empty and incredible slow in updates.

But I like your optimism. I have seen too much pesimists on these forums. Lets try and find the healthy middle of realism.

healthy middle of realism.
Here's an attempt at balanced realism.

The good news is that they are focusing on getting the basics done and fixed, although this is uneven - basics like the siege problems, the troop AI and the armor formula are not being addressed. They seem to shy away from extra fun features, which is good, because modders would do them better, and the sooner Taleworlds stops chopping and changing, the sooner the modders can start working in earnest.
Another advantage of an earlier release is that they'll finally find time for adding more modding support, which is at the bottom of their to-do list.
The bad news is that they are slow and sloppy and Mex leaving won't improve that. Their announcement of regional battle maps was greeted as great by some enthusiasts in white, but this is actually bad, as it's a huge task and will drag out the release much further in the future. Which means more chopping and changing and less modding in the near future. Of course, if you have infinite time, this doesn't matter, which is the default white knight position. It will be done when it's done. Everything's great if you don't fear death.

In conclusion, we should focus on bothering Taleworlds with fixing the existing mechanics and making the basic game adequate rather than touting suggestions for new features, no matter how spectacular and worthy our ideas might be. Save those for "make me a mod" threads or have a purely academic debate about game design that won't matter at all.

I think this leads to a point where people's opinions might differ. What would y'all say are the basics for Bannerlord? In my opinion the barebones features would be physics-based combat with multiple actors (player and npcs). I personally would like to see all the fundamental aspects of that fixed before they even consider working on anything else. Some else's mileage might vary I guess

Agreed, one of the biggest issues I have with this game is how incredibly frustrating it is that things like siege ai still is just as horrible as on release. If they'd fix issues like this and add a few features that give us control over parties and kingdoms I'd be fine with the game and would probably come back and play it, as is I won't touch it.

"It's done when it's done" is one of the more annoying rationalizations I see regarding bad game development practices, especially when combined (usually) with that obnoxious "rushed game is bad forever" quote. If I tried to play that card in enterprise software I'd get laughed out the door and into the unemployment line.

It's not like they're listening either way. The regional map thing sounds like a game jam idea from a random staff member than something they were pressured into adding by players.
