Natural Selection 2

Yep, I also got it for Calodine. I might seek you out when I'm done with this one game of LoL.

Only realised today that I have access to the black armour dude.
Looks way better in my opinion!

The sad thing is though, I can't see it myself!

It needs some more optimization on all fronts, performance, specific graphic feature polish, networking, commander gameplay (specifically, more hand-holding for noobs).

It's not a disappointment at all though, but I will admit it doesn't feel quite as crisp and straight-forward as the mod.

To me everything seems very balanced and quite polished. Even though I play on the lowest settings so get high FPS.

Also, had my first game as a commander.

Gave up 5 minutes in after a guy asked if he can take over, we were getting overrun, with the new commander we did a complete turnabout and won the match. As I left the seat, the situation was so dire that we had one damaged portal, the power was out in the room, with only one marine left alive.

I get lag spikes often but otherwise it's a great game. The concept is unique and tons of fun. Though I feel such a game should have at least 64 player servers, allowing much more strategic options.

64? **** no. Maybe on a larger map it could work, like a ****ing space station, and Im sure we will get something like that in the future in the form of modded maps and servers.

Well yeah, cramming 64 players into 24 player maps obviously isn't a good idea. A space station would be pretty damn cool. Having maps with multiple levels would be awesome though I imagine it would give the commander a headache. But thinking more into it, I think it would just turn into a chaotic typical FPS deathmatch with so many people. With 24 players the commander can easily single out players being idiots and yell at them until they're back on course.

True, but with 64 players, the chance of having someone to be the commanders Brometheus are higher. Having a dedicated engineer with a welder and a jetpack is so helpful.

I played my first game as the Frontiersmen, was fun, we lost, but it was still fun doing what the Commander told us to do.

Then I played the aliens, and it was 45 minutes of boredom. Our commander sucked, we had no communication, I did not know what I was supposed to do, and the alien race-thingy that is the default choice? Too bloody fast. I could not chew on anything, because I would just run past them. Having your eyes inside the ****ing mouth did not help a single bit(e). Then I crashed, and it was wonderful. It was finally over. 45 minutes of torture, finally over.

What the hell is a Frontiersman?

Also, the default alien is Skulk. Not fast enough if you ask me. Maybe you should try different tactics besides W+M1?

Hey guys, I'm having a blast playing NS2 but organized gameplay is even more blastfull. Anyone up for that?

So far I'm quite disappointed with this game
Most servers I've tried weren't able to host this game properly, and if you find one, you still have to find decent teams with communication.
Is just me, or you use all your ammo too quickly?
Why no hand grenades like in NS1? :c It's not like grenades do a lot of damage anyway.
Turrets: even more useless than in NS1
Playing as gorge: you no longer build things! Just weak "turrets" with low rate of fire. Oh, and small walls of your vomit
Skulk: the usual. Players don't check for the ceiling, but a big group of soldiers > big group of skulks.
Flamethrower: what for? Bad aim players? Damage isn't impressive, nor the range. And the burning effect is pointless: if they got so close to you, they either killed you or you killed them. Or they ran away soon enough to survive. Very few times you get a kill for "burning" after being killed, especially if you met a big alien.
