Native expansion newb

Since the troop trees looked pretty expansive I decided the only way to decide is to see them in action. I've been recruiting Nords, was a very hard start. There is a bug, when it says 22 sea raiders it means 45 professional soldiers.  So the only battles I was engaging in to level my troops were ether deserters and pillagers or joining up with patrols to take out sea raiders. Still had a very high rate of loss.

Well I managed to get 4 heroes and 45 troops after doing endless recruitment circles and the battles are going my way with a little strategy. I have a renown of 190 and no one has offered me vassalage. If I want to make my own faction or take over a kingdom do I stay neutral and start warring with lords and try and offend kings, How does the independent kingdom system work on this mod?

you kigdom start when u take a town or a castle...

otherwise u are neutral to faction an intimal with bandits

Ok thanks, so in order to be able to attack a town or castle I have to be hostile with that faction or do they have to declare war on me? because I am at 0 with all factions except nord, I have +11.  If I want to start my kingdom with the rhodoks I would raid caravans to gain hostility then it will let me attack castles?

1º take the patrols to get down ur rep.

2º take a town but be careful with the siege because attacking a town or a castle the requires a siege tower
could be hard and the other patrols could attack u

3º survive the retaliation (must fun)

OT question: Do the top tiers units, like Paldins etc, can be get by upgrading village recruits? If not, how to take them atm?
No.
If you read the Troop Tree post, you will know how to recruit.

Paladins i think are Swadians

Just build in Any Town of your holdings a Special Building, i build it only norse only, and it is Halls of something
Here you can recruit best Norse Troops
