Well that's odd. If it didn't work it should have just given you white textures, not an RGL error. You might want to check that you installed it correctly (to the right folders, and the main one first, then the patch), but if not you'll probably have to reinstall. Just install mount and blade to the same folder and it'll overwrite all the changed files.
Thanks for telling me, it must be something to do with his specular/environment maps on the textures. Allthough why it would cause an error in what I think is an animation file is beyond me. I'll remove it from the list.
Edit:
Just checked, turns out that that file is renamed in v1, and that's what's causing your problem. So it is in fact incompatible with v1, thanks again for pointing that out.
Just for the record the rest should be fine, although I'm not certain about the map makeover.
