Aye, because it's obvious that they aren't glitches, just bad map design. If you think it could be a glitch, THEN you go to the guidelines.

How is this discussion NASTe related again ? oh wait it isnt.
Map glitches can mess up competitions. NASTe is a competition. Ergo it's related. Likewise, the proposition to use the pack in NASTe was put forth and we're now discussing the merits. If you have a problem with it all being in one thread, then go ahead and ask Lust, Caba, or Moss to create a sub-forum where administrative threads may be stickied and discussions take place separately.

I did already and it was "rejected" but yeah, Orange knight proposed it iirc. No ladder admins had the put forth this idea,  and if we were to consider it for the tournament it would be discussed in between admins. I dont mind the discussion I just find it hard to keep track of matches and stuff when all of this is being discussed but since dont have child board this is the only way ;/

The Matches are not hard to keep track of, because if you havent noticed there hasnt been any discussion on match's recently!

So you're helping a cause of never helping a cause by not helping a cause, but hurting a cause by helping said cause of never helping a cause?

As I understand it everything related to matches is on the front page or dealt with through pm's. Besides the front page this thread doesn't really have a purpose so people discuss things that are, at least originally, somewhat relevant.

My words can appear on forums. Sometimes, people use words to communicate, communication happens on forums, therefore my words are important...

Noone's *****ed over glitching yet, it's really not a big deal. Unlike the European community we don't expect everyone whose beaten us to have cheated to do so.

Ah, but sir, my syllogism was valid.

It doesn't matter that noone's *****ed yet. Someone put forward the idea, and we're discussing it (in fact, you're discussing it too )

Yes but for all you know someone could start *****ing over it, kinda like what happened with the lag thing. Do you want that to happen again?

No. When you're beaten, you just cancel the match. Much better.

EU NA **** aside (and thanks for bringing that up, once again - everyone's favourite subject) I agree whole-heartedly that this isn't the most pressing of the issues facing the ladder right now.

The problems with running custom map packs (in my eyes) are logistics, verification, and interpretation of glitches.

Every server would need to have these maps in their rotation, and some server owners are more willing to install the maps than others. Some server owners are also much more easily contacted than others. Those server owners that are particularly difficult to reach might be running the best suited server for two teams. This creates another cause for conflict between teams.

It could also be difficult to tell which version of the map you're on. You would need to deliberately test specific areas on each map to determine if it was lust's "fixed" version or the native version. I can easily see disputes being raised about whether or not the correct version of a map was used, and I can also imagine the ill will I'd quickly get from the community by saying "screenshots or gtfo."

Then there's the interpretation of what actually is and isn't broken. Lust already brought up one of the biggest issues here: the linens hanging around Village. I'm of the opinion that the linens over the cushions at the wall (near the portcullis tower) are legitimate spots, while the other linens around the map are exceptionally difficult to reach and thus more likely glitches. The broken walls around Ruins are another thing I consider not to be glitches, just tricky jumps, and they don't really convey much of an advantage considering there is no cover from ranged troops on top of them. For Nord Town, it's my opinion that the carts need to both be blocked off or both remain open, as they both provide entrance to areas that otherwise have only one entrance. Removing access to one makes that spawn area arbitrarily more advantageous.

Christ X, what is your problem?  :???:

X clearly works as a Fox news pundit for a living. It would explain so much.

Also, what Manrid said. Certain glitches are just part of the meta game. And in some respects, make maps truly balanced.
