What happened to the fauld?
Chainmail skirts are for sissies - real kniggets use faulds

(just chainmail and a jupon seems like too little protection to me)

Thanks for all the love

For anyone who may care, I think I've pretty much decided how the new plate armour will look:

The mail over the body may end up being covered by a jupon, but either way, that's about how it's going to look.

Great work, i believe the jupon would be better than plain chainmail.

that's definitely a distinctive look. i'd like to see a jupon as well.

first of all, the churburg inspired armour looks absolutely awesome and believable. excellent work there

if its possible, you might make a plain version and an additional version with a jupon. would add in some variety...

oh, and i have to agree with Kohlrabi, the faulds on the first version were quite cool and IMO totally authentic, at least for the time around 1400 and onwards (even without any further protection for the wearer's ass).

btw: do you plan to expand this pack until the heyday of early "white armour" around 1415/1420, to close the gap to your beautiful later plate armour pack?

I will probably end up doing both.  It won't be much extra work.

As for the fauld, well... I just couldn't find a whole lot of evidence to suggest that they were very common pre-Agincourt era.  This armour is meant to fit in to the ~1370-1390 time-frame.  Plus, I couldn't find any pictorial reference to show me how it would have been constructed.  From what I've see, it looks like you would have found no fauld attached to this style of segmented breastplate.  I think it would be more believable to see mods with a lot of knights wearing this kind of kit, with a jupon, than a lot of knights wearing kits with a fauld that is only found on one (that I can find) contemporary reference.  For a knigget on horseback, the hips and ass would not have been much of a target anyway.

And I may eventually do an alwhite armour... But for now, I want to flesh out the transitional equipment, mainly because it can easily fit in to the MnB time-frame.  Anything post-1400 is pushing it, IMO.  (I think a couple more styles of bascinet wouldn't be amiss).

That's what I mean.  It will be under the breastplate, though.

That's why I asked wether you were planning to do it this way too.

Ah.  Perhaps, if I get to feeling industrious.

is that type of jupon too thick to be worn under a breast plate?

First pic, the guy in the middle, and the one on the right.  Arming garments are always worn under plate, one way or another.

Because you're not atm?
You're a scary guy, you know it? (not that we will complain... )

Nice pics.
(And if people haven't understood it by now, I'm wanting stuff like the guy on the left in the first pic...)

Also, was wondering: is it possible to create new armour featuring the tableau feature?

I have edited some of them in order to do heraldic armors with tableau material, the results are nice...

This guy got it to work...so it is possible. Although it would be nice if Narf implemented the tableau at least for the 'Early Transitional Armor'
More types of bascinets would be great to flesh out this pack.... I've implemented Dejawolf's Helmet Pack, but the helmets don't fit that well with Narf's armor meshes (floating), not that Dejawolf's work is sub par or anything.

I think a version of a klappvisier and another version of the bascinet with aventail wouldn't be half bad either. Maybe even a version or two of a kettlehat, if someone wanted to go for a medieval 'sergeant' look. Hell, maybe even a version of the hornskull bascinet with the visor flipped up.....

Ok, to many ideas...I'd better shut up now so Narf doesn't feel swamped...

First of all, the items look great.

I downloaded the file, and overwrited the files in my native folder.

When I start up the game, it crashes and I get this error.

I downloaded the new official patch, mabey it's incompatible with this pack?

A little help? I don't want to be rude, but it's been two pages. My Native is unplayable.
