The steel texture is so realistic!!! Is the screenshot really taken in warband? If some enemy would charge on me with that armour i rather die than hit so beatiful armor.

Thanks, I do hope they'll come in useful for you guys.

The texture is done on a 2048x2048 sheet, so it should look good   Though making a texture look good at that resolution is way more work than I'd have expected.  The armour is a resource hog, but the details weren't coming out well on a 1024x1024, and I figure whatever, I don't work for Taleworlds, I can do it however I want.  It actually uses the same amount of resources as the 'Vaegir Elite Armour' that's in Warband, and since this armour is essentially meant to fill the same niche, it still conforms to the game's current quotas.  Of course, it's easy to shrink texture sheets down if you really want.

Did you sculpt?

Partially.  The soft stuff is sculpted, i.e. the boots, skirts, sleeves.  The gambeson is done with a height map, as I found trying to sculpt that well was taking forever.  The leather parts, being so small, are not sculpted either, just because it would have taken more time (between prepping the model, baking, etc) than just quickly painting the height map.

I'm not a historian, but I can't call it really Rus related, but the texture work is sooooo amazing, I simply can't complaint about the historical inaccuracy.

My only dream is that Narf would work for TW. Oh pretty please.

Well, I'm no historian either, but I can at least give you some of the links to my resources.  Of course, I have no idea how credible these sources are, but I liked what I saw, the and thought it would look good in MnB.  Note that the last link was posted by you three pages back.  I was counting on you to steer me right!

How long did ya work on it if I may ask?

You may ask whatever you please, and offer any crits or advice freely if you're so inclined.  It's hard to say how long I spent on it, because I work so sporadically.  I usually only have a half-hour or an hour on any given day to work, and very often no time at all for two or three days at a time.  But I know I started that project around the last week of January, so I could estimate it to be around forty hours, assuming an average of an hours' work per day.  I think if I was working in two to six hour stretches it would have probably been about thirty.  Either way, it was a lot of work, but I was in no rush, as I find the process more enjoyable than completion.

My critics was only about the last armour. It just didn't feel 'Rus' enough and I couldn't understand what particulary is wrong. But now I see what confused me.

Though my english is not that good to explain it in words, I hope you'll understand what I mean: on your last armour there are... well, little metal parts (I dunno how they're called) that go around the neck. Mostly they cover clavicles (on your model). While that part in Rus armours usually is more wider and it covers shoulders:

Your's seem to be a little smaller. Or it's just the angle of the screen makes them look not that wide.

Anyways, that was the only thing that confused me. And certainly there's no need to edit those parts. It looks superb enogh.

And sorry for my first post, I didn't want to make it sound like "You're doing all 'rong!".

they are accurate, the problem is warband's skeleton. it's too small so he's forced to reduce the overall size of the torso to fit the skeleton. in reality, the torso should be wider and longer as well as the legs, or conversely, the head should be smaller.

Okay, I finally finished up the Rus armour pack.  Some of it came out good, some not so much.  I just have to make lods, then I'll start up a new thread and release it.
Here's a variation of the kuyak:

And here's the last armour:
As per usual, I screwed up the shoulders and arms a bit.  Serves me right for not rigging and testing before doing the maps.  Still, it was a ton of work, and I'm happy with the results.
My friend i am ammased from the quality of your work...
