OSP Medieval 3D Art Narf's Transitional Armour Pack (Updated 07/19/10)

It's from the movie Joan of Arc

I would have thought it was Robin Hood too.. on that note I would love to see some more bascinets and sallets (I know there are some already but aren't as close fitting as the ones in this film) and would fit greatly with the transitional and plate armours you've already made. Maybe like a complete 14-15th century pack?

I am tempted to learn how to do this by myself, maybe I will put together a crappy helmet one day xD

Do you think these kinds of low-tier armours are worth doing though? I noticed you do high-end armours so I was a bit sketchy about suggesting these brigandines. Nonetheless they would be a great addition to any 14th century pack or Hundred Years War mod.

Beasting hard,

I found these images Narf, perhaps they will interest you.  The helmet is 15th century or perhaps slightly later so I wouldn't worry about it but the armour itself is a 13th century authentic piece.  It's not a Russian armour but apparently used in Anatolia and the steppes of Eastern Europe/Asia.

Looks like a hard texture to make, there is lots of detail there...

Not much.  I've been too busy this month.  I did do an alternate version of the kuyak armour, and some Rus style cavalry boots, as well as turnshoes with cross-garter.  Nothing too exciting.  I'll probably start a new armour in January.

As a new-year gift, eh?

Hey guys, FYI, I think the download link is broken. Click it and nothing happens. I also never rule out operator error.

They are working, try another browser and go for this link: http://www.mbrepository.com/download.php?id=2006&f=narf%27s_transitional_armour_pack.rar

That's a photoshop image on layers. It's a metal texture Narf made for other texturers to use on their own models, not necessary if you just want to use his armors.

Unless you really want to texture, then it's just "open it with Photoshop or GIMP".

so I don't need to extract it to Native?

No, it's for texturers to use to make their own textures.

Oh ok. So what do I need to download for this game anything? or do I just have to have the items down in items_kinds1?

You need all the files that are in this file: http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=2006.  Then follow the instructions on the first page for where to put everything.

Okay, I finally finished up the Rus armour pack.  Some of it came out good, some not so much.  I just have to make lods, then I'll start up a new thread and release it.
Here's a variation of the kuyak:

And here's the last armour:
As per usual, I screwed up the shoulders and arms a bit.  Serves me right for not rigging and testing before doing the maps.  Still, it was a ton of work, and I'm happy with the results.
