Anyway, I didn't think so many people were actually interested in these Rus armours.  Maybe I'll change my mind about leaving them.
Only make what you want to make.

Of course, but it's a lot more rewarding if other people actually want to use them

So I did a little work on the kuyak texture, and I think I'm happier with it:

I had to give up on wolf fur.  I just couldn't get it to look right.  The bear fur is more harmonious anyway (imo).  I should probably have done it as a bunch of semi-transparent planes, like the hair models.  But I figured that would be too much work, and I took the short-cut, and ended up kinda disappointed with the result.  Lesson learned, I guess.

That's beautiful looking fur Narf, very realistic!

That bear... he doesn't brush his teeth much does he? o_O

Wow Narf, what can I say more, I almost started to cuddle with my monitor when I saw that fur.. Now I am sure that you are hard core perfectionist if you're "kinda disappointed" with this, it's perfect!

Great stuff.

Narf, did you consider my suggestion?
Narf, would you at any point consider making OSP packs that enhance the whole look of the Native factions? The current armors are perfectly fit for Swadians and Vaegirs, but they are just too awesome for the game right now. There is just too much discrepancy in art style. If there would be some "cultural" packs, however, every troop would be as great as the other.

Right now, we have Middle European armors for high-end Swadians and Eastern European (or Rus, to be more specific) for high-end Vaegir troops. Some Viking style armor for Nords, some Arabian-styled clothing and armor for Sarranids, some Mongol or other Steppe people equipment for Khergits and some more western-to-central Europe stuff for Rhodoks would be great.

I am not demanding this. I am simply suggesting a direction to go for your excellent artwork, and I am well aware that it would be a tremendous task for you. The simple reason why I am still posting it: It would be totally freaking awesome.

Biggest issue I can think of for doing a Nord pack would be there's nothing really in the same epoch as the Russians/European 14th century style the transitional armour pack has. You'd really be stuck with just various styles of a mail hauberk (although I wouldn't mind seeing narf do a basic mail hauberk).

I'll try and post the Russian primary artwork today/tomorrow although I took a look at it and it's a bit underwhelming on account of all being fairly small detailed and relatively generic in appearance. But what it should do is let you know if another source's depiction of a Rus is authentic or not.

Furthermore I can't verify the authenticity of these in a historical sense, but they do offer some really pretty depictions of Rus warriors.

Another option worth considering is not to limit yourself to just Russian armor but rather look into Balkan or even Byzantine armors.

Anywhere you see the berdiche it must be around the 16th century or so.  They were used mainly as support for guns (as in resting your gun on it to fire) and if forced as an anti cavalry weapon.

Well, some Sahran's pics are from X-XI centuries.

By all means, post away.
So I've spent some time on gathering the pics. I tried to find onlu XIII century pictures and seems I have not very much of those.

Ok, here we go:

First you could check my post in the 'Russian research' for E 1200 mod - http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,90553.msg2504309.html#msg2504309

Not much. I thought I'd find more though  :???:

Hey man,

If you have the time I think it'd be cool to see some armours like these if they haven't been made already:

Blue/grey brigandines and maybe a similar red one that the English wore in the Hundred Years War.

high quality stuff as usual

That felt... Really good

@Sahran and trueten:
THANKS!  Them's just the kind of pics I was trying to find!  Now I don't see how I can possibly not make at least one more Rus armour.

@Beast:  Sorry man, I hated that movie (Robin Hood), and found the equipment to be so utterly anachronistic that I couldn't possibly make something from it.  Like, why the **** are they wearing bascinets and sallets in 1100?

@Billman:  There are just so many things I'd rather do than a crowned helm... Chances are slim.
