Hey guys!

Just a little headsup, the source files are released for the Napoleonic Wars expansion.

Remember that you are not allowed to backport (transfer) any Napoleonic Wars expansion content (including, but not limited to, Models, Textures, Scripts, Shaders, Sounds)
to Mount & Blade, Mount & Blade: Warband or Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword unless you add a CD Key check for the Napoleonic Wars CD key in your mod installer.
The installer script provided in the package does this for you, so you do not have to worry about this if you use it.

Download the sources here:

Have fun modding!

Don't think that including such a CD key check limits your module user base, Napoleonic Wars sold over 200000 copies.

Compared to Warband's 1,000,000+?

Any Sources?

Your argument is not valid at all. As you might remember, this 200.000+ games were sold in less than a year, while your imaginary 1.000.000 games were sold in 2 and almost a half year.
That means, that you will have about 200.000 new players which just arrived shorty with NW. This players would most likely be playing for, lets say, the next 1 year. Old players which arrived 2 and half year ago propably are not playing Warband anymore, which means that basing your mod on NW is propably as save as basing your mod on Warband.

I believe that number was quoted from one of the devs, Armagan himself, IIRC.

And yes, my argument is quite valid. This isn't an argument about how well something has sold, where your logic might hold some sense, but rather, it's about playerbase. As it currently stands, NW has potentially 1/5 of Warbands potential playerbase--actually, less as a decent part of Warband's playerbase are SP only players.

Quite frankly, I don't see the wisdom in displaying such a competitive attitude against the very game that allows your mod to exist.

Potential... That is not the actual playerbase. Ofc Warband sold more games than NW, obvisously, its running longer and it is a standalone game, while NW is a DLC for Warband, so NW will never be able to sell more copys than Warband. But that is not the point. The point is, that this 200.000+ players that bought NW are most likely still playing Warband while a large part of Warband players propably is either playing Singleplayer or is not playing at all, since Warband released 2 and almost a half year ago.

What I am saying is, that the actual current playerbase of Warband is propably about the same size as the NW playersbase and that basing your mod on NW will not means less players.
And I/we am/are not competetive against Warband at all.

And I doubt that all the players that bought NW are playing it as well. Neither this nor that changes the fact that the  potential playerbase for NW is more limited. It's something to consider when mods are already competing for the scarce total available attention.

Great!
Now, will anyone please tell me why this is so great and awesome? I don't want to sound impolite or something, I just haven't played NW. Ever. Nor Mount&Musket, while it was still a mod, so I'm wondering...
