As some of you might know, Warrider was initially named "Way of the Sword". That name of course was pretty generic and overused so we (wisely) changed it to Warrider.

Since I have changed the storyline five or six times, it would be putting a rather sloppy job to change the name only once :). Therefore I am now considering to change the game's name again, this time to (ta-taa) "Mount&Blade". However Warrider is not such a bad name either and I thought I could use your opinion here. So please take the poll above, and if you can explain your position by posting below it's all the better. Also, if you have a name suggestion and don't mind us stealing it, I would be very interested to hear that also....

Thanks a lot for helping us at this,
-Armagan

Of the two i prefer WarRider... Mount&Blade doesn't sound quite right!

Although, considering a name change is a good idea... "Warrider" doesn't read to well... "War Rider" reads better! :)

Thinking of a name is one of the hardest things to do! i was in a band and for about 2 years we didn't have a name because we couldn't think of one! :)

Voted Warrider is way better, because mount&blade is uhh...I dunno, it doesn't sound right.
But Warrider is not quite there either. According to my english dictionary, the word "rider" refers to a motorcyckle user, while someone who rides horses is "horseman". But "War Horseman" sounds even worse then "Mount&Blade" :) As soon as I come up with a name, I'll post.

How about Knight Rider :D

Seriously I couldn't come up with any name that would describe the game better than Warrider. Mount&Blade does describe the game, but sounds bit too simple to my ear. Warrider has more rough feeling about it. It brings more images to mind. Or maybe I'm just used to it already.

Maybe you could add something to the existing title to make it describe more about the game. Especially if you are planning to do a sequel. If the storyline is about a great war starting amongst different nations it could be: "Warrider: Dawn of Darkness" for example.

You could mimic Elder Scrolls series. "Tome of Lore: Warrider" could be cool. Maybe.

So far simple "Warrider" (or as ShadowMoses said "War Rider") is the best title IMO.

I understand it means firstly a person who rides a horse or other animal. English isn't of course my first language. Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary however says that the word "ride" firstly mean "to sit and travel on the back of an animal that one directs".

 I would really like to know what name you finally came up with...

I see how that can happen though. As you reject name alternatives, your standards keep rising and it becomes ever more difficult to find that perfect name. I guess the lucky ones find the right name efforlessly at the first try...

Yes, actually I was thinking of Mount&Blade as the name of the series. (Kind of like Might&Magic or D&D) It could be "Mount&Blade:Dawn of Darkness" or "Mount&Blade:Heroes don't cry" or something like that :).

You could mimic Elder Scrolls series. "Tome of Lore: Warrider" could be cool.
Hey! Tome of Lore is not a bad name and it's not taken either . But it's more fitting for a game involving magic and such

I prefer War Rider as well, but what about:
Steed & Steel
Good pairing of words there :). It would definitely work as a book title, but I guess for a game, Mount&Blade would be better.(Maybe because Steed is kind of a literary word?) Mount&Blade sounds more epic and heroic to me. I really don't understand why nobody likes it... :P

Well our first official final name was "Jim To The Bar" (it's a long story! don't even ask! ;) ) and our second final final not to be changed name was "SpinDrift" but in the end we were thinking about changing that too!!

Rider is fine for a ... err... horse rider! ;)

I really liked "Jim to the Bar". I would like to try out your album if I saw that name on it. :) Believe me, you could have been famous if you had sticked with it. :D

what about Strider: War in Calradia
Strider: Calradian plains
Strider: Way to Calradia
or Caldarian rider
i love the name strider although it refers to aragorn it is the job that you do in this game
maybe with a turkish subtitle Yolgezer : Calradia Savasi

Dictionary.com says:
strider:
n : a person who walks rapidly with long steps; "he was such a strider that she couldn't keep up without running"

I don't think that really describes our game :).

Mount@Blade is starting to sound like a good name. Maybe it could be good name to attract masses.

I can't say much about what makes a good name for your game. Maybe you should ask someone that hasn't played the game yet.

Few more title names.

Mimicing pirates:

Riders!
Raiders!

Misc:

Riders@Followers
Ride!
Ride for victory
