I practice by making someone say a very simple sentence, which I then translate to Nahuatl, via word lists and grammatical lessons.

It's really hard.

The Viking variant is cooler, they can be read both ways depending on the direction they are written - it's so random, it's cool!

Yeah, th -tl suffix is Nahuatl. The atl-atl concept isn't though. You do know exactly what it is, right?

I guess it's because it's the only word we've got for it nowadays, that it's so commonly used.

Actually the literary translation for atl-atl would be "water thrower", it is called that because those devices were consistently used for fishing first and second for warfare.
