I finally got to play some matches against RM and it was very interesting to say the least. The Meta in EU is obviously completely different that what we have grown accustomed to in NA. The emphasis on infantry caught me off guard and it an out of body experience to watch them roll out with 4 Khuzait Spearmen on desert outpost. In terms of the playoffs, RM has hit the magic number of 3 wins after a showing against KO. They've clinched a playoff birth and can just focus on getting rounds for the sake of seeding. While I expect them to lose to Unknown, they will still have a very winnable matchup week 5 which will give them a high seed.

As expected, HB couldn't quite deal with Unknown. That isnt a mark against HB so much as a testament to how good Unknown is. HB has an extremely interesting matchup with PSFC this week.The winner gets to the magic number of 3 wins and the loser will have to play their way into the playoffs week 5.

Ok so I have 2 takeaways after KoAs extremely fun match against AWH. Firstly, Aporta got 35 kills and they beat a playoff caliber AWH team. Thats showbiz. My second takeaway is that Aporta needed all 35 of those kills for them to barely squeak out a win by 1 round. The KoA infantry core is extremely new to competitive and the experience deficiencies definitely have a tendency to pop up from time to time.

Playoff Contender| Alligators With Hats

AWH benefits extremely from the group stage being extended by 1 week. They had a decent chance of making the playoffs with a win this week, but they would have been praying that certain matches among the 2-1 teams went how they needed them too. Now their destiny is back in their hands and they can just focus on winning.
Side note, looking at Sloppy's stats for the tournament has been very entertaining. He either goes 20-3 or 3-20 and it completely depends on the amount of cav the other team is running.

This is another team who benefits from the 5th week. Losing to HB may have kicked them out of the top 8 even though they probably deserve a playoff spot. Now they can afford to lose and still play essentially an extra playoff game against another team fighting for spots 5-8 next week.

RMC is virtually guaranteed to make the playoffs. Why are they so low then? Well the challonge Gods have been very kind to them to put it lightly. It will be fun to see how they do week 5 when they are playing another team with a winning record, which they have yet to do up to this point.

Remember last week when I said "Knock Out would have to really screw up to not make the playoffs." Getting 6-0d by a team people thought you might beat qualifies as screwing up. If they dont get some rounds against RCC they may be in huge trouble. Week 5 will have them up against other 2-2 teams, assuming they cant claim the week 4 upset, and thats not good news for them.

Calradic Legion benefits extremely from the 5th week being added. Had the tournament stayed at 4 weeks. CL would have needed to 6-0 their opponent, and then pray that KO got 6-0d and either HB got lost by at least 4 rounds or AWH won by less than 3 rounds. Thats a lot that could have gone wrong, but now all CL has to do is win. Their playoff starts week 4. Lose another match and they have 0 chance of making the playoffs.

That and there are like hardly any people who actually main infantry. I think hes like 1 of ~10 people who gets more than a B+

None of AWH played well. They let someone who barely even plays get 35 kills. Its pretty dumb to nitpick considering every one of their ranks are pretty generous. I probably have Sigi too high. I had Percival too high in the preseason. If you want to join the AWH players deserve A- instead of As club I wont stop you.

The team rankings are fine, but individual player rankings are pretty bad in places.

1. Not your fault, but begs a mention that there are people who are legitimately A- tier or above and don't even have a great handle on 4 directional blocking. In additional to that IMO the class with the most decent duelists is archer rather than inf. **** game, inf is overpowered in all the wrong ways and underpowered in even worse ways.

2. Again it's worth note that there are 14 cav players ranked A- or above, arguably more if you count inf/cav hybrid players. The other 2 classes have 18 between them. Two things here, these rankings overall don't account for cav being OP/easier compared to other classes, but more importantly cav is a broken ****ing class.

3. Somehow Wegnas isn't considered a key player for DoF despite there being a much larger dropoff between Wegnas (a top tier archer with a relatively small skill separation between himself and Beeflip) and the next archer on his team. On Unknown and RCC there is a much larger skill gap between the 1 and 2 archers. Wegnas is an especially key #2 archer than Unknown where the #3 archer has a fairly close skill level to the #2. Overall all these players should be considered key players, however Wegnas is vastly more essential to DoF's success than RCC or Unknown's #2 archers.

4. Chowski is somehow only A-. Cavalry ratings overall are skewed af. Off the top of my head cav players who arguably are top 5 in NA (no particular order) are Yoshie, Chowski, Al, Surreal, and Aporta (Brave honorable mention). Any of those 5 are arguably A+ tier cav (that kind of shows how cav has a low skill ceiling because it is so relatively hard to decide which one is best between them). But overall, I question how Chowski is ranked an A- tier cav. Looking at A- tier cav players none of them are close to him in mechanical skill or gamesense. Statistically he is one of the top players in the tournament on a team with the hardest schedule. He outscored all your cav when you played Unknown, so I don't know how you rank yourself higher than him and put him in the same tier as people who have inflated stats from easy schedules. Overall both stats and general opinion of his skill level say his rating should be MUCH higher. Also Yoshie got demoted to A after not even playing, despite him playing more Bannerlord recently than at the start of the tournament.

5. My personal ranking is penalized for playing 4/7 or something along those lines sets as Sturgia, of course I didn't put up insane numbers. Whalefish also has unexpectedly low stats and has played a disproportionately high number of sets as Sturgian archer, however does not have a penalized ranking. Which is fine, he shouldn't be demoted for not getting many kills in stomps as Sturgian archer, but still a double standard. Overall, some players (particularly RCC's) who have not put up good stats being rated as if they had put up the stats expected of their ranking. If spreadsheet stats are correct, you and Rhine put together barely have put up more score than Chowski. The two of you have 12k something score, Chowski has 11,360 on his own. Yet you ranked yourself higher than Chowski...?

Maybe I didn't carry as hard as your preseason assessment anticipated because my teammates are way better than you anticipated. Pretty hard to shutdown a cav player (let alone 3) in this game, so yeah we didn't shut down someone who barely plays because Aporta is a good player and cav is an easy class. Overall your statement on the match begs the question of did you even watch it?

About your last paragraph...

Ebdanian and I both watched the game together and I think its fair to say that because it was from AWH perspective, Eb is a bit more critical of them. Not because he has anything against you guys its just because of circumstances. When spectate feature comes out it will be a lot easier to make assessments of the teams. Dont be hard on Eb, try to find some truth to what hes saying instead of *****ing on the forums. The paragraph is just one big excuse
