I agree with most of your points. I would say that I actually like the army feature- I think it is far cleaner then the marshal feature of Warband. The armies just need to be balanced better. Armies should take moral penalties for being in enemy territory and taking casualties. You should only be able to capture a single fief with the army (or win a single big battle) before the casualties are too high to continue. Armies should also prioritise being defensive over offensive.

Always state your difficulty settings when reporting this, I haven't seen it yet on realistic settings. If it happens with damage to friendly parties set to 1/3 that is really self explanatory, because with that setting you essentially tripple the combat strength of any faction you join.

It would also be good to know if this happens with all factions or just some.

I examined situation. There are several reasons for this :

1-There were so many defections. Today with new patch defection probability is decreased and defections are rare now. Do not forget during defection lords also take their settlements with them to new faction. Weak factions were losing their lords and settlements to strong ones this was not so frequent but even 1-2 in a year this was effecting huge.
2-There are lords going in financial crisis stay with no money and they cannot recruit men. (will be examined tomorrow)
3-There were big starving penalty for starving castles and towns. For each 4 missing food 1 garrison were dying. This effect is now for 8 missing food with today's patch. Because they were dying they were making sally out and losing their defensive bonus.
4-There were so many sally outs and during sally out garrisons were losing their defensive bonus. This probability is decreased with today's patch now sally outs are rare compared to previous versions.
5-Currently there is no war decleration mechanic to a very powerfull kingdom or making peace mechanic to get unite aganist most powerfull kingdom. (will be added in next months, not quick one)

I continue searching for other reasons. However do not forget in Bannerlord there is no stable world even we fix these problems one faction can rule all the world without player interaction but this should take more time like 20 years maybe. We are working on that. If you want to show you effect on world is much conquer all world earlier than 1090.
Let the lords spawn with a small retinue of hogh tier units to combat looters who since scale with players level overwhelm and capture the lords

Are you sure about that? I thought those settings are only applicable for the battles that you are present.

It definitely happens on realistic, I always play on that. In addition, I’m 90% sure those settings only apply to your battles, not the entire faction. If they did then that in and of itself is a terrible design decision that should be removed.

No, I'm absolutely not sure about it.

But there is a separate setting for "friendly parties recieved damage" where the tooltip says "recieved damage ratio to your allies that are not under your command". To me that sounds like it would apply to armies in your faction and this would explain the snowballing for any settings below realistic if that is true.

In my campaigns (Sturgia and Aserai), there is no snowballing for my faction yet, they seem to be slowly losing against the empire factions, but I may not have come far enough into the campaign.

Right, I'm really jut speculating. If it happens on realistic too then I guess you're right. Does it also happen with all the factions you think?

Based off of my own games and seeing others’, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I haven’t seen a Sturgia or Vlandia world conquest but I’ve seen images or videos of every other faction doing it in some person’s game, and anyway in my latest one I’m inclined to say that Vlandia will do it since they recently blitzed the western Empire.

playing on realistic, happens here to.
the most interesting thing is that it also happened on my playtrough where it traveled across the land playing tablut and BaghChal (what a nice addition those games are) and did not join a faction, neither as vassal or mercenary.
so any setting impacting the kingdom the player joins were of no consequence.

i have had 3 campaigns now where this has happened, all settings were on realistic, 1st campaign it was the khuzits, 2nd it was the western empire and the most recent was the northern empire in all 3 cases valandia was left reasonably untouched though. Battania is always 1st to go followed by sturgia the southern empire and then the aseri

I might start leaving my computer on overnight just running test games where I’m doing nothing but sitting in a city somewhere and just start tallying up results. I’m confused as to why I pretty much never see Vlandia or Sturgia snowballing but the Empire, Battania, and the Khuzaits do it regularly.

did they patch it to fix ? i have kinda same problem southern got whole map we become a 1 nation lol

if they added function like rebel back to their own faction in game and it all would be fixed and be more dynamic.

For this game's own good, I hope Taleworlds doesn't take months to fix this issue...

The game ends after 400 days. That's like watching the first 15 minutes of a movie before it suddenly ends, skipping the next 2 hours of the story.

Playing in a world where there is only one monolithic super-faction is a total deal breaker.
A short term solution would be the majorly strengthen Garrisons in auto-resolve. Like giving defending garrisons a modifier based on the strength of their defenses. One of the issues I see is that the modifier for defending a castle in auto resolve either doesn't exist or is way too small.

If cities and castles don't fall as easily maybe it'll be easier to keep a balanced map for a little bit longer.

The game got instantly boring as soon as one faction took over the whole map. Only took em 30 Hours.
Nothing to do but restart..

Please don't forget the bandits are frequently capturing lords due to too many bandits spawned

We have all seen complains about different factions stomping the others,so I thought I should make a poll in order to see what the community has encountered so far.
