I will continue to add to it as I get more and more wonderful ideas. First off, I have no complaints about the combat system. It works fine for me: slash, block, overhead, repeat. If anyone needs some elaboration on any ideas, than I will give it.
- Ability to execute enemy prisoners, but not lords.
- Send companions on missions for XP and money.
- Ask to be made protectorate kingdom (the faction that you become protectorate over becomes an "autonomous territory that is protected diplomatically or militarily against third parties by a stronger state or entity. In exchange for this, the protectorate usually accepts specified obligations, which may vary greatly, depending on the real nature of their relationship. However, it retains sufficient measure of sovereignty and remains a state under international law").
- Sabotage relationship between vassals/factions.
- Sabotage city's/castle's garrison (AKA make some troops go... missing).
- Seneschals.
- When a faction is defeated, you get several options about what to do with the lords. You can attempt to recruit them, release them (relationship bonus), imprison them, or execute them.
- Religion.
- Send trading ships off to trade with foreign lands. This takes a certain amount of money to do, and may either give you profit or you waste your money.
- Foreign mercenaries (travelling ronin, wandering knights, etc).
- Ability to invest a lot of money into a caravan. If that caravan makes it to its destination, than you are rewarded.
- When kingdoms sue for peace, they offer money.
- Suicide patrols. Lower morale, weaken enemy armies.
- Defecting to other kingdoms. If you have a reputation as a great warrior, other kingdoms offer money for you to defect. Or you defect by your own free will with no reward, except the kingdom you defected from despises you and you lose relation points with most of that kingdom's lords.
