Awesome! Good luck on the exam, then get ready to get completely lost in the world that is Pendor.

Hmm  I was just wondering, this mod is mainly based on some sort of a storyline right? Is there a collection of the Lore in-game? (I mean besides the wiki)?

The lore comes from many different sources, most of them ingame.

If you want a basic overview, read the stickied background on these forums. There is also some on the website and wiki but most of what you need can be found ingame, either through talking to people in taverns (the Order Knights, the tavern keepers, the travellers).

The Companions will also tell you more about their homelands / Orders.

Hmm fair enough  One more question: In other mods, making an infantry/archery-based character was not done. Since you had to spend too much points in athletics. How are things in PoP? Something changed about the effectiveness of the athletics skill or maybe high armour that doesn't weigh 20+ ?

Well I like infantry characters most myself so they definitely work. I think it is easier to play a tactical infantry commander than a cavalry commander - and in PoP tactics are VERY important.

Yay, I've kinda had it with me trying to give the guys some instructions and by the time I'm done, they're already charging to death on an enemy spearwall :l

just make sure you leave Formations checked in the camp menu (it starts checked, just don't turn it off) and you can have great fun with tactics. without it you just get the headlong charges of native.

as far as cavalry vs. infantry, infantry tend to be easier to command because they don't spread out as much, they are easier to regroup, and they work much better as a unit, I've been wanting to play a 100% infantry game, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Cavalry is pretty powerfull in PoP3, the knights at least, and as far as the player is concerned, it is much easier to be mounted than afoot, especialy if you don't like playing defensively and aren't very good at dodging lances

YYea tactics are very important.  The use of high mountainous landscape helped me defeat meregan kierlics adventure party and I was out numbered so I put my my archers up on the cliff and infantry in shield formation and won my victory.  And qualms jem

I've always been a horse guy myself as well.. Nothing like leading the charge with the Calvary on horse into the infantry or archer lines ..

Always have a blast with that  Almost feel like I'm taking part in the "Gladiator" movie, since I'll move my infantry and archers up one solid back to back line, and then have my Calvary with me all the way on the flanks, then once the infantry lines clash, flank em! with my Calvary!

Fun times!

Though there also times I go head long into a Calvary charge and I'm usually the first one to get knocked out by a lance, lol.

I always unmount ... I don't like making big turns ><

I lead the charge in smaller engagements, but once there are more than a hundered or so troops, I prefer to sit my horse on a hill behind my archers with the backspace menu open and issue orders from there. I lean towards INT based characters, so I'm not all that great in a fight anyways. thats what my companions are for!

That's pretty brilliant. I used to do the other way around. Companions for my INT skills, me for killing.

I'v always thought that I'd prefer a king who led with his brain to one that led with his sword. brains > brawn

Well. This comes a little late for the crowd.
I have to say the feature I like the most is the minor factions that spawn HUGE armies.
The first time I saw a Jatu Army I ran away VERY quickly (though I did pause and admire their massive troop list that filled the screen).
lol

Betcha!
In my current game one of the jatu armys have 1003 prisoners. I tried to fight them with at least one of my lords so he gets them all but given the fact that they run and the fact that you'd need a area with many mountains it's just too annoying for me.

by the time they have a thousand prisoners they should have lost quite a bit of their actual forces and with a high tier force you should have no problem.

Or they rescued another thousand or three prisoners in the process. A top tier/honor party skillfully used can still take them on, but 10 to 1 odds are usually unpleasant. A Target Rich Enviroment.

id rather fight fifty assorted top tier troops than the 300 lancers they spawn with.

okay so perfect nightmare here.  Wolfbode (who spawns with about 900 men) got in a fight with a jatu horde who had 400 left...... and about 700 prisoners.  Yeah wolfbode won........ and now he is HUGE 1500 men
