My old character to become King???

The strangest thing just happened to me...
I completed the Queen Christina quest line in a previous game then started a new one to try out some stuff... now, I captured Vyborg as my own rebel town and low and behold who is waiting for me in the Lord's Room but my old character?! He is angry that Queen Christina took over and wants to be King......

Have I stumbled across a secret??

I collected the taxes but my old pal disappeared.. I waited a day and tried again.. hey presto! he's back.. didn't give me any reputation though.. just a cash reward... going to see what else he.. I.. can do

Yeah it's kind of confusing because my old and new characters have the same name... incidentally, I used the export/import character tool in the game so that I wouldn't have to start from level 1 .... the exported save file doesn't seem to contain any reference to previous events.. hmm.

To get it started, you need to be unassociated with all nations.. so no rapport with any of them... then attack a caravan or partrol that belongs to same nation as a city you want to conquer... once you've defeated the enemy you'll be at war.. sort of (you're not a nation so you can't have war declared on you), you should now be able to besiege a city/fort belonging to them. When it's captured it'll be (grey text) Rebels(nation), once I swore an oath to myself in the Lord's Room it became Player Nation.. odd huh?

Lol indeed, but then it cant be complete bug, since i think that is only way to get player nation...
Oh and by the way, if the name is confusing, go to character and change yours

Pardon me if I misread but did he only appear after you reimported?

And you can also edit the faction name with some editor, voila, a completely new faction!
So interested, keep updating man!

I don't recall seeing it in any other of my saves, I'm going to do some in depth investigation after work to see what triggered it... perhaps it's always been like this but I never though to check... He doesn't always appear on the unit roster of the city, only when he is in the Lord's Room, when he doesn't he can be found around the city map, either by the portcullis or the mayor.

I'll keep you all posted.

Hey Adjuchas I just found something likely on a Chinese forum, this seems to be an old bug
The guy who posted says that he met two himself (yay, two...) in Warsaw, and someone mentioned that it happened sometime in 1257AD too

I'm not sure but if I understand all the infomation correctly, it should be like this:
When you import your character into a new save, the old character will appear in the game as a NPC and keep all he once owned like his estate and etc.. the yours happened to be a ...Rebel King (or whatever sounds cooler), coz you exported him when he was one.
So now come the question, how to get this bug happen?
