Sorry to be dense. How exactly do I go about adding these to my game?

(Because they're bloody fantastic and I want to)

I do it with GIMP manually textures => std banners

the problem is some of the mods have different specifications for banner boarders plus then you can handpick them

So just go straight in to the original file and stick them over the top?

That's the idea. Also don't forget to stretch the banner to fit the original size in the dds file.
