My kingdom hates me

I just took reyvadin from the black knights, going through the entire nord army twice and about 600 of my own men to do it, and when king Ragnar decided to give it to someone else, I rebelled. Now this is the second time I've rebelled, the first time the black knights jumped me and I lost it in about half an hour. I guess I must have attacked a surviving patrol or something, because now my kingdom hates me very fiercely, around -40, I can't enter my own capital, and the patrols run after me. Is there anything I can do to change that?

Wow you cant even enter your own settlements and your OWN patrols chase YOU 'their leige'

I didnt know that could happen, i wouldnt know how you could even bribe your settlements now to like you.

Maybe wait around forever and try and help your patrols if they get attacked?  if that takes to long, you could just let your kingdom be destroyed, then start it up again or join another lord for awhile?

Stop being such a Tyrant then lol

sorry couldnt resist that really is odd; arnt patrols meant to help pacify the peasants?

It's obvious what happened. A doppelgänger took over, setting up a monarchy, and sicced the troops on you, telling them that you are an imposter who seeks to throw the realm into anarchy. You must find and slay this evil doppelgänger and slay him in order to resume your throne. Be wary, for doppelgänger scum are possessed of otherworldly powers.

Wow, you know, I expected a bit more help and a bit less sarcasm, but whatever eh? I guess I'll just start a new character.

Bugs are buggy. I hope I don't run into this one. Did you have a save from an earlier time you can revert to?

You have a lot to learn. Since when has a question on this forum NOT been answered by sarcasm?

You CAN fix it! I fixed it. But it takes some effort. You will need to find a Lord who you can convince to join your faction, by giving him a town or a castle. After that, approach that Lord, and say you want to make peace (with your own kingdom). You then need to pay a good amount of cash, but you will have peace and kingdom relation will go to 0.

You guys suck

I don't think that this will work. Because you yourself are not a faction. You can only have your own faction, but this is the one you are at war with.

In other words:

In the faction information screen (the one you find under "quests") there must be standing "Kingdom of player is at war with...", and because you are no faction there won't be standing: "Kingdom of player is at war with player", and so you won't have the dialogue option to make peace. At last that's what I suppose. Try it anyway, you can't lose anything

You guys are obviously making this way too difficult.

Try leaving the faction by rebelling completely or asking the king to stop your homage.  Once you are a loner, you can

make peace with a kingdom by talking to any named npc of the angry faction as long as the npc is not also mad at you.

However you will have to pay money to end the war.  Once you have reset your faction relation to zero, go ask to join

the old faction once again.  Your old estates will remain yours.

Simple as that.  If you join another kingdom for protection, you cannot fix your relation as quickly as having your own.

Being a big man and saying sorry works.  Of course, the lords themselves may still not like you, but thats what the

ladies in waiting are for.  Go to a castle and talk her and pay money over and over until the lord she knows can stand to

talk to you for quests, which also make him happier.

If its your village or town that hates you, theres only one way if you are not able to enter to do quests for the

elder/guildmaster.  protect caravans/farmers or check nearby taverns for a peasant that needs to rid his home of

bandits.  Yes, theres a chance you will have to fight someone on the way to apologize.  It happens.

Maybe we should develop a way to send messengers?  Nobody shoots the messenger, right?

George Washington shot an emissary coming from the French, which, along with other factors, ignited the French & Indian Wars (though it was an accident). Also:

THIS IS SPARTA *kicks messenger down pit*
