Like a teen  boy looking at porn,  Warm wet stickyness in my  pants.  Great job guys!  This isnt a mod, its a total rework.  I would gladly have paid for it.  I bow in honor of your work.

I have it very unstable till now.

My install as follow:

download, install, install ask overwrite? I say yes.

Question , should I overwrite or not? Is .34 so much harder on the pc?

I have deleted my old Brytenwalda folder and installed the new version completely from scratch. So far everything is fine and works just as before. Especially, as I am playing on Linux under Wine.

I have only changed the following value in the rgl_config.txt file: render_buffer_size = 512 (is 16 or so by default). Do this, if you have at least 2 GB RAM, otherwise try to set it to 256.

Hengwulf, start with a fresh Brytenwalda folder. I renamed the old one to "Brytenwalda_OLD" and made a new Brytenwalda folder.

Have played for about 3 to 4 hours and haven't had a single crash yet.

Nice hear this.
It would be interesting know your PC, and configuration in Warband.
Performance in Brytenwalda is a of things that I want improve.

Idibil I would be happy to help you with this.

What do you need? A screenshot from my configuration screen and a screenshot from the settings page?

Howitzer I will reinstall. If all works fine after that I will start a new threat to make sure new downloaders notice it!

I think I may have had the same problem as you.  My game was very unstable and crashed alot. I think the error message said it was a runtime error.  Anyway I fixed it by following a guide I found in the link in the bug thread. After I used to guide, I hadn't had any crashes, and I think I have a worse computer than you.

If I understood the guide correctly, their is so many textures and other stuff in the mod, you need more memory to process all of the stuff.  So you have to increase the amount of virtual memory your computer allows you to use on programs and stuff.  My virtual memory was set way lower than the recommended value.

Here is a link the guide. http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,131274.0.html

I found the link to the guide in this thread. http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,136401.0.html

Hope this helps.  The guide was kinda confusing at first, but once you start to understand the concept of virtual memory it starts to make sense.

Yes, it is a problem of low memory. Stitch74 solution is a idea, other is that you low your texture quality in video options to 60% by example.

Pentium 4 - 3.0ghz, 1.25GB ram (DDR1), 128MB Nvidia 6600GT. (In other words: ANCIENT.)
Game configuration: DirectX9, lowest texture quality, pixel shaders on, AA off, shadows off.

Works great. Loading times bit longer than previous versions, but gameplay performance seems to have improved actually!

Have played another 1,5 hour and again: no crashes, no real bugs.

So all in all: truly a great release that just needs a little finetuning.

OK Idibil

After a quick test I find it to be more stable. I didnt think .34 would be this much harder on my pc. Then again, I have it for 4/5 years

Edit: for others experiencing this, I downgraded the graphs, not the stitch 74 thingy I can't figure out

forgive my insistence, but you could post your warband configuration (a picture or something) and your suggestions for Brytenwalda?, I like add it to performance, for others players that have crash with low memory.

I would like to post more info, my first pic wasn't that informing (no Ram, video cart)

Where can I find this.

I know it's a noob question but how many times does one look at this?

You havent bad PC, Brytenwalda should run.
I dont understand well your image, you need low texture quality in video warband options, dont in your driver.
-Double click to warband exe.
-In small screen, dont choose play, choose configuration.
-Go to Video options and click over textures on deman (it should is on), and low your texture quality to 50-60%. You can look others points too (by example, shaders to low quality)

Now, you enter to game and you try it

@idibil

maybe you looked over my last post. I put text quality to 60% and haven't had the crash so far.  Haven't played long though, trying to be helpful on the forum (though I doubt what I can do with my PC knowledge, was happy to find that screen haha *pc wizard*)

Edit: o and I put it in the bug report with my PC specs and my solution.

Aside from a few minor bugs this version runs perfectly on my rig.

I was blown away by the Roman Ruins and the stage by stage fight with the slavers, although the refugees do incur several script errors once spoken to. I'll get some screenshots for you as I'm not exactly sure which error it is that occurs.

Over all, I'm very impressed with the work you have put in.

Stark.
