My hopes for this game, AI and such

Okay I played this game for a couple of days now, it's great, love it.
Here are some ideas I have to make it better.

First, forget about the undead and so on. The townsfolk may tell rumors about dragons and monsters etc. but keep it real.
On the other hand, I would not go historic and implement old Europe, but I would definitly try to imitate some of the countries, for example the big, arabic "threat" in the east, the Franks, the many small kindoms of Germany that yet are somewhat united, a spiritual leader state like the Vatican or so.

Second, there needs to be progress in the war. The only thing that destroyed the overwhelming good atmosphere while I was playing was that there were constantly new war partys popping up.
I do not need played and full supportet takeovers of cities, but some progress would be good if I carry out missions for the Swadians for 4 months and virtually nothing happens.

Third, Battle AI. It is good. Really.
What I like is that the guys do not keep perfect formation all the time, charge forward in rage or stumble backwards out of the formation.
But this needs to be changed to resemble logic.
When I start off, according to the rank of my soldiers (guards or peasants) there needs to be some kind of formation. Consider searching Wikipedia about old European fighting techniques.
I need one more command: Advance.
So many times I want my people to attack, but do it TOGETHER. So, if I scream "AAAADVAAANCE" in their faces, they begin to attack groups of enemys together. Beeing able to designate several unique groups would be cool, but is not necessary.
Oh, by the way, the leader actually yelling and waving his hand would be cool.
Also, I would like the AI to stay as stubborn as it is. When we defeat the enemy and he runs away (which should happen) I actually WANT a few warriors to charge after them. But I need to be able to yell "Back into formation" to them. Some kind of animation would be nice.
Just watch Troy, Braveheart or the new movie Kindom of Heavens or something, to get an idea how people behave in combat.
Khergit Raiders that circle around my group, occasionally charging into it are very sweet, I almost cried because it looked so good.
But a single Marksman attacking my whole force is just not realistic. The enemy should retreat at some point (except for dark knights or elite warriors or so).

Fourth, I now you live in Turkey but I would appreciate it if you do not, well, mix the cultures so much. I would like to see some arab styled kindoms, where you can by sabors, but in Swadia (for example) where everything is more European, the Peasants should wear fitting clothes.
Some cool units for arab styled countries could be Saracen Cavalry and Berbers. Swadia could be more like Middle and East Europe including Landsknechts with huge swords and pikes as elite warriors, others could have good archers like the British or even be Viking, Visigoth etc. related.
You find a lot of info on Wikipedia about the Germanic tribes and medieval battles.
Be sure to include some good standard swords as an alternative to sabors.

DO NOT INCLUDE KATANAS. Nobody had them back in the day.
I hate all those pseudo-cool games where you need to play half monk half Samurai to win.

Thanks for the game. Seriously. I didn't have so much fun since Starcraft.

I've thought that the idea of another country invading would be cool.

There's the basic battles going on between the two sides, with raiders and bandits being annoying.

And after a while, another "empire" starts sending in troops. They might even be friendly at first, but then they start attacking both sides.

There should be various options of how to advance the game.

Work for one side or the other, and wipe out the enemy. Then using the larger empire, fend off the foreigners. Eventually leading strikes into their own territory.

Or, allowing both sides to fight each other, until the new enemy crushes them (and possibly joining the new power).

Or trying to unite both sides (lots of diplomatic missions) to fight against a common foe.

Or joining bandits or raiders, and profiting off the chaos.

As a disclaimer, yes, I know, it does not resemble medieavil times, but for me it would destroy the atmosphere if there is suddenly a new technology that doesn't fit in the time.

Oh I have some suggestions to music.
I buy a lot of Soundtracks and I like most the ones Danny Elfman composed.

I replaced a couple of mp3s I ripped with the Soundfiles and they are great.

I used:
(Big Fish OST)
Sandra's Theme
The Journey Home
Finale
(Sleepy Hollow)
Into The Wood/The Witch
The Church Battle
The Chase

Those fit perfectly, The Journey Home&Sandra's Theme in the Map screen are just great.

Maybe you can get the CDs somewhere cheap and maybe they give you inspiration when you need some new music files (Can never be enough).
