My final verdict

Totally agreed. More than a year now with little progress. Moreover, those very few features presented in Bannerlord are WAY much worse than in Warband, not to mention Viking Conquest. (pls, someone make a visual overhaul for VC).

I thought, the communication was becoming better, but they went to total ignore again. And instead of adding widely asked feasts or overhauling Siege AI they add barbers and sheep textures.

After freshly added prison breaks I expect all other features to be a huge disappointment, since prison breaks are so bad in Bannerlord...

RIP, Bannerlord.

- Minimum 1 shipped AAA title in a narrative designer/writer position

Sounds like all Bannerlords devs are out
Jokes aside, why would anyone at AAA level want to be involved with a company whose current game is a neverending story of failed goals.
You may write a novel of exquisite game text, only for the company to fail at development and chop and change the game for years until only a fraction of your text remains. Their track record is ruined forever and they won't be able to attract good talent in any department.

This would be cool, like if you´ve conquered everything you can create a space mission and start a new campaign with your kingdom in space.
Are you saying they are going to do barebones knock off FP/TP Stellaris instead of Crusader Kings this time?

I´m pretty sure that TW thinks that games like CK are too complex for their target crowd. But Stellaris is also a cool game and of course way more complex than Bannerlord will ever be.

Paradox is a very good company in my opinion, sure they sell you (us) a lot of DLCs, but they are like the opposite of TW. Their games also have a lot of bugs and so on. But they don´t use the EA excuse and their 1.0v is most of the times (*rome cough cough) totally playable for the same price as Bannerlord.

They are actually good example of what TW should be on the level of content quantity and quality. They both larp as indie company, they both got huge sales and actually middle sized company. One makes new features constantly (sometimes to the point of feature bloat - looking at you EU4 and CKII) and sometimes listened to the playerbase criticism (Imperator), the other cannot even fix the basic features and have no roadmap. Good comparison to the launch of BL would be HOI IV, they both were released in the broken state but only one got fixed and significantly improved and only one was developed paralel to like 5 other titles while the other one is supposedly sole focus of the company.

Are they seriously hyping a space game while Bannerlord is in its current ****ty state? They can shove that right up their asses. I will never buy another TW game.

They aren´t hyping now. They don´t even have it announced now. But soon.

I guess they´ll start to hype it like 4 weeks before Bannerlord will become final. They think they´ll get the same hype. Dejan and Callum are working on it I guess, they´re not working with us and they need something to do.

Why would they want to join Taleworlds in its current state? Good question but overall i can say that there are plenty of reason AAA guys WOULD want to join smaller projects in which they can yet again flex their creative muscles and work outside the bounds of strict publishing guidelines.

While we were busy bashing our favorite Soldier Sim over at Boehemia Interactive a few years back there was a similar discussion going on about how "AAA guys would take Arma so much further" -only, they did release a few impressive tech demos but they never materialized (CryEngine one in particular). We then got a surprising forum join by one of the Battlefield 3 guys from DICE and wrote a long detailed post about how he and a bunch of his mates would kill to be working at somewhere like Bohemia and start having fun again with the more freestyle programming ways rather than the very pigeon holed and heavily relegated software requirements they had a DICE. He said it simply "just wasnt fun at all and felt completely like non creative menial labor".

If I was a developer, and I got the opportunity to work at Taleworld's on Mount & Blade: Bannerlord, I wouldn't even hesitate. for the amount of work that seems to be done, I'd assume I'll be on vacation more than half the time with money pouring.

Legit question. While sci-fi alien space thing is waaay too different from our usual medieval theme, what theme do you guys think would be a more natural branching out from Mount and Blade? A pirate game?

A pirate setting would be really cool! Like Warband but pirates!

Age of Sails is a historical period that many people love, so it would draw older players. They already have the engine for it. Artillery for canons, trade for the sea voyages and pirating, melee and ranged combat, crew management, etc.

That's why I really can't comprehend the sci-fi decision. It's not history, and isn't sci-fi usually modern stuff with guns? Who is this new game even for? Are they trying to make a game with hi-tech plasma katana cutting through bullets in slow motion?

I am another dissapointed player. I expected this game to be the evoluttion of warband, but there are many points that makes this not good. It is not easy to explain, there are several good things implemented, but the overall feeling is not good.

- I don´t think this engine is apropiate for nowdays, the light is too poor (I can not stand specially desert maps).

- The art is poor in my opinion. Colors are not good. Textures are forced to feel detailed, but nothing real, and they are too much repeated.

- I don't like warriors, even if the detail level is better than warband. I don´t like factions, I think proportions of the body are not good. I think animations could be better. I like horses though, even if they are too small.

- I do not enjoy siege game. This is a game, and I feel like running for a lot of time, just to finish killed by an arrow that i can´t see.

- There are absolutely not enough servers, adn you can not choose, you just have to play the only server that you have.

- There is a big lack of content refered to maps. They use same objects and textures.

- The game is not finished, and there are some details that try to prevent you to notice some things. You can not even analize thte scores at the end of a battle, and I suppose this is on pourpose just to prevent you to notice that you are playing always with the same people.

- HUD information is ugly, but this is no very important.

- The feeling of this game is like playing a game 15 years old, but with a bunch of textures and players.

Anyway, I like this type of games and I enjoy sometimes to play. But compared to Warband..., I think Warband gave me much better and epic moments. This is another example that shows that more does not equal better. I am another player who cares about this game, and that is why I am writting this words.

Aside from agreeing with your general sentiment about the game, I also think you shouldn't thank them for not being censorious, I know that with this being 2021 and freedom of speech not being a huge deal anymore one would almost be surprised they tolerate criticism.
TW employees are not involved in forum moderation with the exceptions of Callum, Dejan, and MArda. Callum & Dejan have oversight of the moderation team but do not participate in day-to-day moderation (they send reports like anybody else), and MArda's responsibilities on the forum are clerical in nature and confined to tech support.

The forum staff are all volunteers, and it's not in our interest to shut down criticism of a game we also play. We just want people to be reasonable & more-or-less polite with it. MostBlunted has had trouble with the last bit before, that's all.

By this regard, do we have any sort of notification as to why / when and how our messages got moderated / deleted ?
I've found a couple of my messages deleted without any prompt lately, I really don't know why.

If this game becomes fully released in a month or 2 ( is that true its going to be out of ea in a month? ) I will apply for a steam refund I've got 60hrs played and I will make a detailed a very very detailed report on why this game is not worth the money and what was fixed/ wasn't fixed and what was planned and later scrapped ( pretty much all the interesting features( castle building the more in depth criminal empire stuff as they were too complex/and or they didn't think anyone would like them) and multiplayer campaign which was supposedly too complex to make yet a modder has already made a fully working multiplayer campaign mod although if a bit primitive it still works. I have had products refunded in the past with a lot more playtime this. This game is a massive disappointment to me and and alot of other people even if the steam reviews say otherwise I bought this game day one and it hasnt been able to keep me playing (bugs, horrible ai, lack of immersion, lack of content) I have tried multiple times to get into it again throughout its EA period latest time being about 2 weeks ago and yet again I got bored within a very small time. I probably won't get the refund anyway as I've owned the game for over a year but its worth a try

be glad you guys aren't playing the mp part of the game. their mp game wasn't working at all for 1 month just recently lmao
