My dream for Mount and Blade

My favorite thing about Mount and Blade is the Melee fighting. I enjoy this more than anything. It is really intense, when your facing harder opponents and more than one at a time., (I wish it was harder).

With all the next-generation technology games showcasing off all their awesome features one feature really stuck out for me. Having 1000's of enemies on screen at one time.
Imagine Braveheart the game...... not really about Braveheart but with the kinds of battles that are in the movie. Just imagine hearing the roar of the opposing army, and the rumble of 1000's men charging at you, kicking up dust clouds. Then your army advances, charging at them enemy. The hectic frantic frenzy of chaos, everyman for himself, no time to think, only to react. That would be INTENSE. THAT is my dream.

Now I know the creaters of this game do not have enough money to use the Unreal Engine 3. But hopefully some game company see MOB and realizes the potential and wants to work out a deal with the makers to work together..

Anyone here of the game Ninety-Nine_Nights or something, thats coming out for the Xbox 360, that game has thousands of enemys on screen at once, but... the fighting just looks aweful, button mashing galoure.... pretty dissapointing. I want that kind of technology, with the advanced combat strategy and time period of Mount and Blade.

I would also like to see more difficult single enemies, like champions that are extremely tough and hard to kill... 1v1 battles like that....

No. It's been completely redone. You now always hurt them when you 'hit' them. But your stats depend how much damage you do.

Blocking is now under playing control aswell, so no more 'Block skill on 100... why won't he block!? *Goes all green and stupid like the hulk* ARRRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!'.

Ah hem, yes anyway. Combat will be alot better :).

Bah, I won't be using melee anyway. Archery, stealth and possibly some magic for me :). And by stealth I mean luring enemies into traps .

Yeah, from the gameplay movie it looks pretty similar to M&B melee, though not exactly the same (it seems like M&B is harder :p).
Where exactly can i find this trailer? I saw the one that was a couple minutes long, but not much gameplay in it really.

Thanks god!! It was rather lame to have to make a ring of regeneration, find a couple of rats and a decent shield, have them attack me, then turn off my monitor and go to bed so that by morning my guy could actually use that shield

Its called 20mingameplay . use filemirrors or some p2p sharing soft and ull find it. Its avaible on some gaming site but there u have to register and wait a half eternety 2 download.

Why is it that all the replys have nothing to do with the post, I'm sure that Oblivion has a forum at elderscrolls.com. Can you do me the favor of replying something that is related to the post.

Well, first off i don't feel like going to the Elder Scrolls forums and either A. Searching and reading for an hour to find out about the newest video, or B. Posting for the first time asking about it, and get a bunch of forum whores replying "use the search n00b!!!". Secondly, your post was such that there really wasn't much to reply too. We'd all like to see larger more intense and detailed battles. I did however look into the game you mentioned, ninety-nine nights. After reading a review that stated how you could kill dozens, even hundreds of enemies with a single move i closed the page  Button mashing galoure, like you said. The problem is no PC can render thousands of highly detailed units on the screen at once. R:TW would look and feel like crap if you could play it first person. However, i was pretty impressed with the starship troopers demo. I have no desire to play the full game, but the engine was designed quite well and could handle a couple hundred high detail units on the screen at once before it starts to really affect performance. In any case i don't believe M&B would be as fun with realistically huge battles, as your influence on the battlefield would be virtually nonexistant. It would have to come down to how you command your troops, and strategies, which would be very difficult if not impossible to perform effectively while attempting to actually fight (unless you felt like pausing every 20sec to issue new orders). So, for a M&B style game, i feel 100-150 units on the field at once is a pretty optimum balance between realism and gameplay. Just my humble opinion though.
