Totally agree, Mount and Blade combat system with CK2 depth and politics is the perfect combination. Because what one lacks the other fills.

If it means giving up being Mount & Blade, it shouldn't be in a Mount & Blade game.

Mount & Blade had the RPG kingdom management to start with. The only reason it wasn't more fleshed out previously is because Taleworlds was a much smaller company. Now they have the funds to expand it, which they are already doing. I don't see what you are worried about.

No one is asking for M&B to become a grand strategy game. We just want more RPG! It in no way gives anything up.

I could be mistaken, but as of now, it appears with a focus on generational gameplay and constantly generating content, we are getting clones and one-offs of characters and companions that don't have the same story or interaction with players as companions did in previous games.

Also, the heir system will be making players invest their real life gaming time in re-leveling characters after their original character dies. Making players have finite time with each character in game is definitely a restriction tied to a gameplay mechanic that seems like a chore. Imposing new restrictions and limits on players is not a step in the right direction, in my opinion. M&B never saddled me with that burden.

Fair enough if you don't like the generational aspect. This is an age old divide in sandbox discussions regarding permadeath. Some people want to create 1 character and play that forever, which is fair. Personally, I want to see real time pass. This isn't a matter of right or wrong, simply different preferences. I disagree though that this makes it like CK2 or a grand strategy. It is still M&B like before except your character can die.

Without a multi-generational change / story I do not see the reason why you would want play for such a long period of time that this would even effect you? I always eventually got bored with Warband because of that. As it stands the time passage is very slow, I doubt you would play for long enough that this becomes an issue.

Ultimately the solution is simple; add-in a game rule that changes days per year or simply disables aging. Problem solved. To me, it would break immersion that I am the same age forever but if it doesn't bother you great.

Hey, fellow CK2 player here. The reason I either play CK2 or Bannelord on any given day depends on if I feel like dealing with politics, plotting and treachery or Jumping straight into battle. Both games are great in their own right, but their approach to feudalism is very different. For most people that play Bannerlord/Warband CK2's approach to vassal relations may be too detailed, while bannerlord thrives with simplicity in diplomacy and the fun of the land battles.
Why not have the option of both? Late game bannerlord is boring and needs more to it. I think adding CK2 like options would be a wonderful solution.

I agree with you man. Literally just fully combine the 2 games. That would be amazing. The game above all games. For people who just want to battle, there would still be this option would there not? You will probably lose relation with Lord's and kingdoms but that just means more wars and battles which is exactly what you want.

Recruitment should also move to the direction of CK2. Fiefs should give you tier 1-2 levies that can be used in war, and which can be upgraded by building structures in your fiefs. In addition to this you should have a standing retinue of elite troops that are at your disposal even during peace time.
