My brothers game crashes alot.

Hello. I purhcased this game, and it runs fantastic on my computer, very stable, only crashing once. On my brothers computer, which is more advanced than mine, but also just about equal(more processing power and thats about it, same graphics card, same memory, etc.

He says he plays the game, and sometimes it crashes when it clicks the exe before he clicks to play the game, and when he is in the game as well, rarely giving any reason for the crash.

If you need his system specs, let me know, and I will give them. I also want to know, if I have him uninstall the game, and reactivate it, will he not be able to? Will it count the uninstall and reinstall as a third activation? We have it on my computer and his, but before I have him reinstall the game, I want to make sure he can, so that the activation key works! Please help.

Try shutting off some background programs before playing.

Disable any net connection first!
Quickest way to do this is start>run and type msconfig. Hit enter
Click on startup
If he's got XP, click disable all and then ok
If win 9x, uncheck everything but Scanreg,Load Power Profile, Systray and explorer. Click ok
When the PC reboots try playing M&B as usual. If this solves the problem then something running in the background is interfering with M&B.
run msconfig again, check one of the boxes in startup and try again.
Repeat until you find which app is causing the problem. Then just close that down before starting M&B.

If that doesn't work then another couple of things to try:
Make sure the graphics and sound drivers are up to date
Run a full antivirus and antispyware scan

Yeah, he only has the same system processes that i'm running. Less even. And i'm very good at keeping our comps clear of viruses/spyware and the like, and have run all the proper programs for it.

But i'll still try what you say.

To the question about the activation : Yes if you reinstall the game , and try to activate it , it will indeed count as a 3rd acivation , Although - this is little problem IF* you have had the key acitvated for atleast 60 day's , Otherwise you will have to wait the remaining days until the 60 day time limit is up.

In any case , you will only have to wait abit to activate the full game.

Hit Ctrl + Alt + Delete , look for anything which has a name that looks suspicious. example , if you have IEExplore running in proccesse's but its not up on the screen , that's normally bad.

I am very knowledgable about suspicious processes, and know alot about computer protection in general. We don't have any bad things operating on the PC. He disabled all the extra processes he had from msconfig, and it still crashes. Just dont know what the problem is.

Oh, and that sucks about reinstalling the game. We just bought it, if he reinstalls it, he'd have to wait 60 days. Thats crazy!

you're lucky all you get is a crash to desktop. when m&b crashes on me the system resets by itself. if i turn all aut-reset from startup and recovery all i get is a blue screen with no error message. it's been crashing so much lately it's become pointless to do anything besides play arena battles
