Low-tier archers (Vaegir skirmishers, forest bandits, etc.) against a very high resistance shield. I also suspect it's been slightly tweaked.

Same here. Javelins are even worse, I feel like I should have the ability to snap them off somehow. That or make it so that all those javelins/arrows give a shield speed penalty or something. As I understand it that was one of the primary functions of javelins anyway.

"Slightly tweaked" is an understatement. I'm not sure if Agility itself gives a bonus to shields (other than the shield skill which is agility based) but I did in fact tweak it to get 999 Agility and Strength. I run faster than any horse and I can deal 200-300 damage just by punching people. I only did that with this char though for the lolz.

I don't love doing this. While I do use shields (the damn AI that has 50% of your enemies gunning for you all the time, mutter mutter mutter...), I kinda feel as if they're a cheat. Plus, in 1st person they obstruct visibility.

I think that's mapped to the left bracket button, or maybe the right bracket.  It's next to the button that makes you yell "THIS. IS. CALRADIA!!!"

Yup, but it will drop your weapon before it will drop your shield so you first have to sheath your sword using \ and then drop it.

I wish this was in the game too. Some way to realistically remove the arrows from a shield. There's a difference between blocking that many arrows intentionally like I did, and just happening to block a lot out of necessity.
