Ok, this is the pictoral guide I have made to my perfect Zendar. By perfect, I of course mean what I think it would be like if it was perfect. Anywho, it has pictures for some of our illiterate friends :razz:

Building Texture
This building texture in Zendar annoys me. At the moment it looks like the walls are made of parchment. Squares of parchment. The others are fine, lovely and realistic, but I really hate this one. If this gets support, could the devs please make it stone, or the same texture as the building to the left of it?

Second-Storey Building
Not sure if the devs have a plan for this building, but I thought it would make a neat place for either the Mayor of Zendar (or similar person) or some kind of loanshark. A loanshark would be awesome, as if you saw a reinforced black helmet or something in Zendar and you really wanted it, but didnt quite have enough money, you could nip up and borrow a couple of thousand gold. Voila! Then you pay back the money when you've become uber!

Stables
Please put stationary horses in the stable block! At the moment it looks dull and lifeless, theres no point having a town stable with no horses in! I just think this would add a more community feel to Zendar.

Storage
If possible, can we have some kind of storage in here? Like if you have a small inventory and you're collecting things for quests, you can drop them off here and when you have enough you can take the whole lot and get the reward. This would also be useful when your training with different weapons, as you don't have to get rid of them you can just store them away.

Backstreet
Not sure if there's anything planned for in here either, but this neglected backstreet could be darkened and made into the "bad" side of town. Maybe a collector or thief who pays special prices for uncommon loot, or sells illegal things.

Well, thats just my two cents. If these are already accepted/rejected before, please ignore them. And sorry if these ideas have been said before too, I wanted to wrap it up in an über post! :razz: [/url]

No, you are actually quite right, i can take a joke as long as i know the person is joking and doesn't have some irrational grudge against me. Everybody snipes everybody else in my family, so i'm used to it.

The "parchment" look is a very good aproximation of whitewashed wattle and daub, or stamped earth construction. There's no need for change at all, there, nor do I think I'd like it. Most of the other suggestions, I am okay with.

quite shiny post. luv these ideas gotcha try them with mod tools or (sorry Armaðan) i'mma do a little reverse engineering and mod the game. :wink:

About the loan sharks idea, if you don't pay him back, he could send out awesome bodygaurds to assasinate you and steal your money. Id love o be chased by them!

Yes, most people don't have easy access to those 'special' characters. They're not used in common english, therefore über is spelled uber in english.

Anyway, I don't think the texture looks too bad, but I would question the idea of wattle and daub or any other of those earth based walls. I don't know of any references for more than one or one and half stories, but anyway they could just as easily be stone/brick walls under the plaster/wash.

The biggest problem with the buildings is they are too flat. I've seen a number of stucko style walls, and they usually have more of a wavy feel to them. Like I said, they're not bad for a low(no) buget game, but they look like a painted box.

Another fairly major problem I just noticed with the buildings is the eves! Any building with that kind of finish on it is either in a desert area with no real roof, or very wide eves to keep the rain off. I'll sketch something out that might improve the look of them.

But these are all fairly minor issues. Its the battles that matter, :razz: who really looks around the town? get in and get back to the fighting! :razz:

Well most people don't have the u umlaut button on their computer, and many wouldn't even know that the u in uber had an umlaut. I don't think most people are bothered to go to www.draac.com and copy/paste those special letters.
(when Germans don't have access to the U umlaut button, they write it as Ueber)

I don't have u-umlaut button, but I can still write ü. Just press the button that gives following signs: ^^,¨¨,~~ (near enter) and then press u. Voila! No need for some stupid sites...

exactly. The keyboards here have ä,ö, and å, but you have to hit that button to get the u-umlaut

^^,"",~~u

ahhh, what sort of keyboard do you use? The northamerican standard qwert keyboard has the tidal ~ key above the tab. key at shift: Left hand, 4th finger (pinky) left one up two.

For most people using an English keyboard setup, they do not have any easy automatic access to 'special' charaters. Special ones being ones that are not found in English.

There is a way to do all special charaters by holding down the Alt key, and typing its unicode (Or ASCII I think it is, unicode would be the larger/better one, but I forget if ASCII is the shorter one, or whatever) number on the numpad.
Ü = Alt+154
Ü = Alt+410

However, seeing as I've somehow never gotten around to learning hex, I'm unable to figure out what ü quick keys are,...
