I couldn't find a thread about this already, but how can I go about fixing this problem? I have to turn music off to play the game.

Installed new sound drivers? Dont know what else could be the problem. Of course you could also try to reinstall the whole game.

Or use the Warrider Sound mod and see it the problem still exists with it.

I knew a person who had extremley bad music/sound stuttering. Fixing there computer up with a 128 graphics card did miracles. I don't know any other way. Try updating your sound drivers, as the person above stated

Okay, I updated my sound drivers and that didn't help... The music plays fine for about 5-10 minutes after starting the game and then the static-stuttering starts again. Will try reinstalling later today...

Same thing happens to me. It happens with or without the mods installed. The music starts playing normally then when it gets to the part with heavy drums, it starts to stutter.

Maybe your pcs arent good enough to handle it and thats why the error appears. (overheating or whatever)

Also if you just play music in winamp or whatever does such things happen too?

Music and sound is perfect in Winamp and every other game. My PC is good enough to run the game smoothly, I can't think of any reason why the music messes up in this game.

I have the same problem.
My soundcard is Creative SB Audigy LS running on a DFI Infinity mobo, 1Gb Corsair RAM, AMD 3000+ processor, 6600GT video, Windows XP SP2. I think the problem has something to do with the 5.1 output ...

randir14, what's your configuration?

OK, for those of you with Sound Blaster/Creative sound cards, try this:

hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on the Running Processes tab...

Find the program called CTHELPER, select it and hit del+enter or End Process button...
This won't affect your system at all. Its COMPLETELY safe to do this.

According to Creative, this fixes a stuttering problem with numerous games, especially F.E.A.R., where I had the same problem. Hope this helps.

Oh, and 5.1 speaker set up hasn't anything to do with it. I have a 5.1 and no problems...

So let me know if this helps you guys. NOTE: if you don't see CTHELPER in your running processes list, then sorry I couldn't be of help.

I got the same problem but I use win media player for music the sounds then run smoother it stopped stuttering
it only happens aggain when using the game music
BTW Carmina Burana, within temtation is excellent gamemusic

Try running DXDIAG and setting the hardware acceleration on the soundcard (under the sound tab) to none. May well just be a resource or emulation problem.

Checking the CTHELPER process thing looks interesting. According to the process description:
cthelper.exe is installed with Creative Labs Soundblaster Devices. It's purpose is to aid 3rd party developers create plugins/software for the card. In this way it is a non-essential system process and can be removed from the task-bar/startup.

There's been examples of similar problems with soundblasters, particularly Audigy's, in many games. Sounds to me like the CTHELPER app isn't working quite how Creative would like.
