Alright. Here's my question. Assuming I edit the M&B folder, to put a music mod into the game, such as Adorno's Ambient Anti-soundtrack. will a specific mod that already has unique music play the Ambient anti-soundtrack, or will it play it's own unique music?
But the music played in a mod is 'controlled' by the music.txt file,
so if a mod already has new music you can't add another soundtrack.
It will only play the tracks in the music.txt file.
Well, if you know how to modify the music.txt file or the module_musc.py file (if you know how to use the module system), then it is possible to add new tracks or replace existing ones. I can't tell you how to modify the module.txt file though, since I work strictly with the module system. When you add a new track, there is a certain flag you have to give the new track.
In this example from module_music.py, I am showing you two tracks. One is a custom track the other is not:
The blue part is the name of the custom track located in the mod's music folder. The green part is the flag you need to add to make the game look in the mod's music folder for that track. Without that flag, the game looks in the default music folder and since it is not in there, nothing will be played for that situation.
You can also add new tracks to be played in whatever situation you want them, but they still need the mtf_module_track flag. But again, how you would do it without the module system, I can't say.
So for example, mod 1 has custom music, completely set up and finished. A finished mod.
and I edited the M&B folder, before installing the mod, to where it used my own set of custom music, instead of native's.
After installing mod 1, would it use mod 1's music, or my own?
If I understand you right, you are saying you replaced M&B's default music files instead of creating a mod with custom music? If that is the case, those music files would play for any mod without custom music, but a mod that has its own custom music would overwrite the music you replaced the default music with.
I adding Ambient Anti-soundtrack into my M&B folder(which I love Adorno for btw), and as I got more and more mods I began to wonder. Am I messing with the feel the mod team wanted me to have by having different music?
On a side note: If you don't like the music/small tunes in Ambient Anti-Soundtrack,
I made a sound track with ambient sounds only (requested by some):

Cool, thanks, you're great, keep up the good work.
You interested in doing some music for the Eragon mod? I'm sure the guys would appreciate, and love it. If ya want, you can post in the thread, or PM The Red Baron.
I don't want to expose people to my horrible compositions more than necessary.
So no thank you. I prefer to keep my amateurish work to myself and not involve innocent people
