Allright it's time for a question. I want to add new music, How do I do this, what If I want to add more tracks what then, and what do the numbers after the MP3 files in the Music text file mean????

1 stands for the world map.
2 stands for battles.
3 stands for both.
Add new .mp3 tracks to the Music folder, add them in music.txt (Data) with a number, and don't forget to change the number of tracks at the top of music.txt. Also, don't put spaces in your tracks' names.

I've put in 25 tracks, all of them mp3s and it seems that only a few of them are actually played, is there a limit or sth?

Make sure none of your custom files have numbers or spaces. I found that out after trial and error.

As already said, you'll need to add all of your file names to the music.txt file in the data folder, as well as update  the number of files  at the top.

Personally, I really liked adding in the old Baldur's Gate Soundtrack. . . it works great!

Maybe im just imaginating, but have someone else noticed that if you remove all "_"and "-" marks from the music files, they seem to be played with smaller pauses?

Like "KandK-The_Dark_War.mp3" --> "KandKTheDarkWar.mp3"

Two comments and and one question/observation:

1) I don't know about the symbols - _ etc, but just in case I removed all of them also from the title. Google "Rename Master" for a good quick freeware utility for this kind of stuff

2) I also removed all Meta data from the mp3's. I believe there may be issues here, as well. Google "Mp3 Tag Tools" for a good freeware utility for this.

Question/Observation:

- I believe there is an upper file limit of 99. The top list of the music.txt file I believe will only register Two Digits. For instance, I had 168 music files, but it only played the same 16 over and over. I dropped the number of files to 76, and now they all seem to play. I'd appreciate it if someone else could play around with this to verify.

Looks like I should put together a Music FAQ sometime soon!

just a thought i didnt mention when i put my hi post on i mentioned i was a writer but i am also a fully trained sound engineer and producer of 18 yrs experience with a small home studio (branching out to a professional one hopefully in the new year) i have been playing guitar and writing songs for about 14yrs if you would be intrested in me writing and recording some new music for the game (at a lot less cost than it would be to license tunes) i would be happy to give it a go i have several freinds who i can collaborate with also if people want to throw some ideas my way ill gladly do it.

im guessing that only 8 or 9 play?
go back to the music text and change the 8 or 9 on the top to whatever your number of tracks is.

Er, guys, this thread is ancient.
This isn't even necromancy anymore, it's a séance. You guys are replying to dead posts.

Although I will say, Sixo, your talents could be quite useful, and I daresay there will be modders that would take you up on your offer. You're probably better off making a thread advertising your skills though, or going to specific mods which you know to be active and personally asking whether they would like your help.

You still replied to a two-year old post written by a forumite who is long gone by now. Can't say I'd be too impressed if it took that long to get my question answered either.
