Sergeant Knight
The knights of honor soundtrack (a strategy game)

I highly recommend it for listening while playing, especially march of honor and the die is cast during battles. Try it, you wont regret it, just fire up your mp3 player and start m&b, remember to tune the ingame music down completely though

Great link, I haven't listened them still, (I am downloading the first now), but for the names I think they are great. Thank you for the link.

Music?
There's music in M&B?

I should turn up my speakers...
Seriously, I've not heard the music... hope I didn't delete some file by mistake!!!

I got "Knight of honor". The soundtrack is good and so is its Intro but I would not recommend purchasing the whole game if your budget is small. It's too easy to master, too easy to be victorious. Starting as any kingdoms feel basically the same. There is not enough to do.

Naw...altho I'm a medieval freak, I've been a gamer for long enough to see the difference between bad, good and exceptional games.

Anyone here own the LotR OSTs? Has anyone tried it with M&B (I ask here because the topic is related.)

I do.. but tbh never tried them with M&B. Looks like the stuff that would fit in, tho.

I think Knights of Honor is worth buying, myself. I love it. It's one of the best medieval strategy games I've ever played. However, the AI does have challenge short-comings, and I don't think anyone expects it to be patched. The game is still a crapload of fun, though.

Thanks for the music links!

namster, check music volume in Option. My game always turns this to minimum everytime I boot it up.

I regret buying KoH, the music is great and the gameplay is alright but the AI is about as sharp as sack of wet rats, rendering the game's replay value to about twenty hours, unless slaughtering the incompetetent AI is fun to you.

Ive played this game for a while and its not bad, but not really great neither. It got some good ideas, but most of then seens like there were not developed to its fullest. Its also too easy and repetitive, very fun on the beggining but gets boring after a while.
And there are some very stupid stuff that I find hard to excuse. And the way time is handled is one of the biggest absurds I ever seen on a game.
It feels like an unfinished or rushed game to me, it could have been great but unfortunatelly, is just good. The soundtrack is really good anyway.

My favorite medieval strategy game is still "Lords of The Realm 2". The combat is poor but the kingdom management and the economic model are the best Ive ever seen.

Yes its possible, you must rename the files in data/music.txt to the music that you put into the music folder, also theres some numbers from 1-3 which probably mean how often or when a file is played, also make sure the number at the top ( default 8 ) corresponds to the amount of files shown in the txt. Its kind of clumsy so i just use a mp3 player myself.

1 is very often and 3 is not so often, yes?

Hm. That's just preference. The way time is handled is one of the intuitive and unique things about the game. You simply don't have a taste for it. I happen to like it, because when I play TBS games, I always take WAY too long to finish my turns. I'm a helpless micro-manager when it comes to strategy gaming. This game doesn't allow me that benefit, yet you never feel hassled by annoying time limits.

But yes, the game seems like it was rushed at the last part, mainly because of the weak AI. I think the lack of diversity in the different regions isn't a mistake; it's just a design flaw. It's one of those things that happens only because this is the first game. I'd expect if there were ever to be a KOH 2, they would have the different countries be a bit more unique. Also realize that they incorporated nearly 100 different nations for you to play (I think... there are more than it looks since there are multiple time branches). You can't possibly make each one of those truly unique, except for the circumstances each one faces due to its nature, such as: terrain, economic status, diplomatic relations, etc.

Also, if you found the game so extremely easy, you didn't try playing as the Scots in the first age. You start with only one region, and its possibly the weakest region in all of Europe. All of your neighbors are ready to conquer you at a moment's notice. Difficulty in this game isn't just a slider -- it's dependent upon which nation you play as.

[As a side note, the AI in Rome: Total War is almost as bad, yet very few people seem to mention it because they are in awe of how many units you can field in battle!]
