I have a suggestion for adding new music to the new patch for the makers(if there is going to be a new one haha), Its a band Called Blackmores Night, they are an old renicasnesne Something I cant spell it haha, an old 1300-1400 band, They play alot of old style music and it sounds amazing, check them out, they have Instrumental and vocal songs, and they have alot of songs to choose from, So take it a glance over, Peace out :3

  • First and foremost, use the Search function!
It's located in the upper-right corner of the forums. Type a keyword or two in to the Search box, click the button, and scan through the first few pages. If you don't find anything relevant to your idea, then it's OK to make a new topic. However, if you find a post that supports your idea, then make a new post in that topic. It's better to revive a thread that's been dead for a while than it is to create a new one.
  • Second, flesh out your suggestion!
When it comes to making a new topic, you're probably anxious to get it posted and see what kind of feedback you get from the community. However, if you don't put some thought in to what you're saying, and if you don't provide any details for your idea, then your idea won't be received well. It's better to spend 10 to 15 minutes going in-depth with your idea than it is to write out your idea in a single line, followed with "how AWESOME would that be?"

Here is a bad first post. Here is a good first post.
That.

You could look up the words you can't spell and you can use punctuation for starters.

As you posted this in the suggestions thread, you might consider closing this. And as you're the one who opened it, you can do so without having to wait for a mod.

Sweet Jesus.. really o.o lol, I just feel like adding a little personality sometimes to my posts ^.^; I didnt realized it pissed some people off?... and ok how do I do that, thats the thing Im a full time college student and I dont really have the time to do that ._. I barely get to play M&B as it is *tear*

and I actually think alot of people would like the music in theirs too, It fits the mod pretty well

Never said I was pissed off, never said it was a bad idea.
It doesn't take long to use the search, look up what you don't know* and structure your post, so it isn't one long line of text and text emoticons.
This has nothing to do with personality.

There should be a button for closing. Or something. Never saw the need to open a topic myself, so I can't tell you.

*Heck, you know the name of the band and you want to recommend it. How come you don't know what you want to say about it?  :?

That's what you were looking for, right?

Goggle has this nice correction feature.
Admittedly renicasnesne was too ****ed up for it though

Would you mind the question what your native language is? I'd really like to know.

Edit:
Heh.
Their wikipage has 'renaissance' spelled right in the first line.

Edit II:
They seem familiar oO

Edit III:
I definitely heard them before. I think a former girlfriend of mine was into this.
And I don't think they're a good fit. But I might be biased. :?

Some suggestions from my side:

Pearl Harbour (Why not?  )

Medieval 2: Total War - Crusaders

Medieval 2: Total War - Mare Nostrum

Medieval 2: Total War - Nothing Left (Great for sieges)

Medieval 2: Total War - Destiny (GENIUS!!!)

Medieval 2: Total War - This is it

Rome Total War - Army of Drums

Rome Total War - Mayhem

Rome Total War - Meele Cafe

Rome Total War - Warrior March

Rome Total War - Soldier's Chant

Rome Total War - Romantic Battle

Warcraft 3 - Bloodlust (Check second half, 2:27)

Also try the "Gladiator", "Kindom of Heaven" and "Troy" Soundtracks, but unfortunately they don't allow videos on youtube...  :?

Nara E S Posthumus

Pearl Harbour - Attack at Dawn (The first song you hear in this vid - I've got the .mp3 on my hard drive)

Ry Cooder - Last Man Standing Theme Check from 1:05. okay, it doesn't fit really, but sounds incredibly cool

...as "Meet John Constantine" does

Thomas Newman - The Road to Chicago From 1:00 it's genius for entering a city through its gates  8-)

Or how about something classic like Bolero? (Especially the last loud part)

Also you can try soundtracks from "The Rock", "Waterworld" and "Legend"

The soundtracks of the Total Wat series are always awesome.
I remember this one track from Viking Invasion... let's see if youtube is generous.

Most of those you listed are probably under copyright  :|

Edit:
Oh yeah...

If any music is added in it should be a separate download for those of who prefer native music or couldn't care less for a band they've never heard of before or a from genre which just isn't to their taste. Also as Wellenbrecher has implied, we can't distribute copyrighted stuff.

Personally I like using battle tunes from Sacrifice (Kevin Manthei, same guy who did the theme song for Invader Zim).

Thanks
*starts looking for his copy of Sacrifice like a maniac
I love that game. Charnel and Stratos are way beyond awesome.

Isn't there this strange issue with custom music? Every now and then it won't load at all and you have to either restart or play without sound. Maybe not big of a problem, but it can get annoying.
Prophesy of Pendor IIRC. I had to restart 5 ****ing times in a row to finally have music.

Never had any problem with custom music before. If I recall correctly there was a thread somewhere that demonstrated the "wrong" way of doing it, maybe you followed that one?

The part I loved most about Sacrifice is where you can use the terrain and spells to chuck creatures around, sometimes miles into the air. Multiplayer is great fun too, hurhurhur  >:D

I just unzipped and started it.
In the case of PoP, the custom music in included. If it was PoP in the first place.

I never really got into the multi as I haven't had a reliable internet connection back then. Used to play it with/against friends via LAN though.
The campaign proved to be most fun for my taste. Finished it five times and I still think it's fun.

And I can't find the frickin' disc  :x
GOG will have another customer very soon, it seems...

probably each of these songs are under copyright. But practically there shouldn't be many problems with music. First of all the copyright owner had to get to know about it. Then there is no commercial use of their songs. This doesn't mean you are allowed to use them, but after being sued you probably won't be sentenced. And finally there is the option to refer to terms of "fair use", but I think this would require a good lawyer.

Once in a far far future I'm going to make my own mod, and I will do use copyright protected music

... I'll simply risk it

I think if you do it yourself it's no different to playing the music through a stereo in the background while you play. For village battles may I humbly suggest anything from 'The Magnificent Seven' by Elmer Bernstein, especially in Khergit territory.

You can get the soundtrack to Dawn of War 2 for free on Steam and run that in the background through iTunes like me. =3

Dum dum dum dum dum dah daaaah, yeah stabbed you in the face you Khergit bastard, hahahaha! Dum dum dum...

Etc.

Well Im glad this is picking up ._., I just think that Blackmores would fit Mount and blade best, its not just because I liek them, if I wanted that Id be playing Muse instead xD

Almost anything viking metal has to offer fits mount and blade, if you're into that.

Vintersorg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AVdMOgrVa8),
and Otyg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljbNJvvDsKA) are neat Folk/Viking Metal bands with many good songs to put on M&B.

But that's just MY opinion. =)

Music with lyrics wouldn't fit. They'd get cut off all the time. So 'ambient' might be the way to go.

And I hate Hedlund's voice.  :x
I can't really say why though.
