First off thanks for all the helpfulness I've received thus far while asking questions.
Okay, I've got all my objects in my scene. Figured out how to put an NPC in there and have found some posts on dialogs/quests that I can't understand yet.
Stuck right now on adding hostile troops into the scene. If anybody can recommend a good .808 relevant primer on this I'd appreciate it. I'm downloading Hero & Blade to see what he did but don't know how much it will work with .808.
Right now, from researching in posts, it looks like what I wanted to do isn't possible right now anyway.
The basic mod concept was to just set up an quest/encounter like you would find in Oblivion. I was thinking I would be able to make a large scene, put in some different locations along with paths/dialog instructions and you would follow the storyline fighting people at the various locations getting clues to where to go next. But as of now it looks like you can't do something like give enemy troops a "Hold this position" command so they would basically stay there and attack you as you come into range. My understanding is that once you are all on the same location they are AI required to come straight for you. Has this changed? Do I need to go to the suggestion forum on this? I will, you know. Don't think I won't.
While we are on suggestions I have often found myself wishing I could delete a generated terrain tree or bush that gets in the way.
Also, my editing to the location terrain textures don't seem to be saving. For example I put in a path and it disappears next load? Any thoughts on what I could be doing wrong or is it bugged?
