After doing a quick search I surprisingly found nothing. Can someone tell me where are the multiplayer characters being saved? Or are they being saved on the HDD at all? Is there a way to save the 'appearance' of a character and copy it back when one creates a new singleplayer/multiplayer char? Thanks in advance.

Edit:

Topic name was changed

Thanks, that was useful. It applies for XP. I run Windows7. For Windows7 the path is C:\User\YOUR FOLDER\AppData\Roaming\Mount&Blade Warband\profiles.dat

Or you could copy the face code.

Is the face code included in the profiles.dat file? I do not recognise it. Is there a way to copy/paste the face code from a singleplayer character into a multiplayer character and vice versa?

Start up Mount and blade Warband launcher, and tick 'edit mode' in the launcher options.
After that you launch warband, go to >multiplayer<
>edit profile<
press CTRLL + E

and click on the 'code bar'
it should copy the code to clipboard.

Now that I think of it, I don't know how you can re-enter your face code. But atleast you have your face somewhere xD

I was able to copy/paste the face codes as described. Thank you a lot.

Now I have difficulties when I trie to apply the extracted face code to an already exported singleplayer character. I figured out the face keys in the .txt-file and copied them over. This should make the exported singleplayer character look like the multiplayer character. Then I import the character as usual through the in-game import/export character option and it all works fine. The face code doesn't seem to be 'recognized' as the imported character still looks like the old one. I'm not sure if exporting/importing the face code of singleplayer characters worked back in 1.011, though (it worked for the stats but I had to set up the face every time anew if I recall correctly).

Sorry to rez a dead topic, but I'm having trouble with this. First off, I can't find said 'Documents and Settings' folder, and when I copy the address [C:/Documents and Settings/], I get "C:/Documents and Settings is not accessible. Access is denied.

I've heard about Vista having admin issues, could this be stemmed from that?

It's in the fourth post of the toppic.

Edit:

Importing a multiplayer character's face code to a single player character actually works fine, just as described above. It has probably always worked, I just did not notice it as it applies only to the face and not to the skin, hair, beard (or their color for that matter) and age. They still have to be adjusted manually after importing the face code. If somebody knows a way to transfer the 'complete appearance' of a given character, please do let me know (though I highly doubt there is a way).

I don't think that importing singleplayer to multiplayer face code is possible at the moment.

Instead of Documents and Settings I go to
C:\Users\YOUR FOLDER\Application Data\Mount&Blade Warband\profiles.dat

I don't see an Application Data folder in jake [my user folder], though.

It's "AppData" and it's a hidden folder. Just add it to the address bar. The fourth post also has the full path...

Basically the same thing..... this applies to everything as far as I know

Bumping this. After extensive searching, I've still not found how to transfer faces from multiplayer to single player (or vice versa, but I only really care about MP -> SP).

I can export a single player character and see two "face_key" variables in the .txt file, but have no idea what to enter there.

I can open faces in edit mode and copy the face code, but don't know what to do with it.

I've opened profiles.dat but it's a big bunch of hex, and I don't know what I'm supposed to be replacing with what. I'm pretty sure that's only multiplayer info though, so I probably don't need to replace anything there.

So yeah, any help would be much appreciated. How do I copy the appearance of a multiplayer character to a single player character?

EDIT: I just found this page which has a script on it for translating face codes into 2 face_keys. The face keys it provided contained most of the right face data for the imported character, but not skin, hair, age, beard, or some of the face settings. Closest I've found though.

Copy the face code and save it somewhere, then download a clean version of the modules system and replace the face code for 'player' with that code and it should become the default.

Thank you for your reply. Could you please tell me what you mean by the modules system and where I can find the face code for 'player' which I am supposed to replace?
