let me explain first of all the developers said there will be NO MULTIPLAYER thingies in the game. So you wanna make a multi mod? Ok let's start you must decompile or reverse engine the m&b's engine to got the whole code and after that you must program a socket to comunicate with web after that you must make a server and client versions of mount&blade and finally your country's police dept can bust you because of reverse engineering a licenced game. maybe you can waste your time in a jail after that...

Are the things clar??
 
It would be crap if it was done, because the engine is not designed for it and the game balance isn't multiplayer ready. So you'd have a laggy, buggy and unbalanced game.
 
so, uh, kinda like halo on pc? seriously, i love halo, but this game wouldn't be much worse than halo if put online. the lag might be a little more, but the game balance is just as good as theirs. in this game at least the absolute-if-you-are-hit-you-die weapon is blockable and doesn't home in on you. i hate rockets in multi :evil:. i still don't think M&B would be a good multiplayer game in its current state, but i'm just saying its not as bad as it seems.

edit: damn keyboard! somebody is using the same frequency as my wireless keyboard and i'm getting typos from stuck and non-responsive keys.
 
i have to say, with a bit of work, multiplayer could be really fun, if you reduce the number of NPC spawns then you replace them with massive player parties running around slaughtering each other, that would be fun. add in a seige option so you can re-create helms deep and there you go!

although, a possible problem is that like wih multi-theft-auto (the multiplayer mod for the GTA games) most people went around doing there own thing and not taking part in large gang battles
 
clan wars woulld be good, especially if you have historical unit type specific clans. like a band of all plate armour knights clan vs light skirmishing steppe horse archers type clan battle.
 
I am still not sure if it is better to see suggestions of multiplayer everywhere, or muffins.
 
It'd be very interesting to see if someone ever managed to create seperate program with their own unique engines of multiplayer, along with their own network coding that allow someone with m and b to play online, just like GTA SA multiplayer mod!

But it'd be best if you work on engine itself while waiting for full working M and B version 1.0 instead, and then that is when you'd use this game to be used in your own MP engine, with less bugs as possible, but that's my opinions.
